Virtually every beer is tradeable. As for Texas walez, I honestly don't think one exists. Sure a few mentioned above trade very high. I only trade with regular trade partners, so I look at trade value very differently than some people here.

You totally re-read it both ways didn't you?

To answer the original question, I think it's summed up below. The only whales we've had are maybe some JK stuff but we have lots of really tradeable beers. I don't trade here but I trade quite a bit on Reddit and finding a regular partner is key. I don't worry about whales and neither do my regular partners. Some months they get better stuff and vice versa. It all comes out in the wash.

Again, more trade talk.... I don't get it. Is everyone trading on this site but me? Why does everyone assume I'm trying to track down trade ammo? Whatever, no worries. I usually drink the beer I buy but I guess I'm just old fashioned that way. I was just looking to track down some killer Tx beers that maybe I wasn't aware of, but the old blind guess never hurts either.

Yeah I did. I'm sarcastic by nature so, that was my original read.

I don't do a lot of trading on here as well. I just want good beer and I don't expect anything extra luckily, there is a good core group on another nonbeer website I post on.

I too thought you traded but didn't care because I trade myself. Usually the term whales comes up in trade discussions. We have so much good beer that others would trade for if they only knew. TX doesn't get a whole lot of love but we should. BA temptress is allegedly coming out in bombers first week of December. That should be an insta-whale but won't be.

I'm very sarcastic myself so I understand. I actually re-read my own post in about five different voice. Honestly, the best trade stuff I've received haven't been the rare things everyone wants. It's the under the radar locals my partner drinks.

Well like I said, I don't want a Hopslam, just thought it was clever to say. Don't take everything so literally. Including this...???....

I guess I will never say the word whale again so I won't confuse people.

You mentioned trading in your OP.
Has nothing to do with the Hopslam bit. Now convinced it's a troll thread.

Using the term Whalez implies rarity and trade value, at least on this site. It is understandable that that is how people took the meaning here. Unless you are actually referring to Moby Dick in slang.

If I had known I would come under such fire for this topic I would have chosen my words more carefully. I'm gonna continue to enjoy my Tx brewed guppies.

    Get it, it's a joke :-)

Honestly didn't know that the term inherently had trade implications to it. Thanks for informing me.

(Not being sarcastic, really didn't know that)

You're fine man. Trading isn't a dirty word so it really doesn't matter either way but sorry you were misunderstood! You like beer, I like beer, we like beer so we're all friends.

Thanks. And like I said earlier, I've only been around a short while, so I guess I don't have all the lingo down.

I was only slightly being sarcastic. Also a bit of busting chops for harmless fun. In honesty the first thing I thought of was trade bate when I first read the post. I don't know if that means "whalez" is alway associated with trades or not. Just what came to my mind.

Half of the responses to this post are not cool. The guy asked a simple question. He wants to know the most valuable (in terms of trade value) beer made in Texas. What the hell is wrong with that?

My answer is: double pecan porter, JK fruited sours, BBA Hellfighter, and BA Temptress(once it is bottled)

    On a seperate note:
Why do some people think it is some much more noble and righteous to trade with regular trading partners instead of trading on the open market? What is the difference? Either way you are trading the beer.

I lurked for five years before posting for the first time this year (not an exaggeration, look at my join date). I did that partly because I didn't want to deal with internet jerks then I realized it doesn't matter. Welcome sir and dont worry about using the right terms!

I don't find one more noble than the other. Regular partners are just easier to deal with.
