Beers to go do not matter at all. JK does not need to get label approval for any beer they sell on site for people to take home. The only reason you would get label approvals as a brew pub is if you plan to sell it off site. I have not looked at if that was for a keg or not, but I am guessing they plan on selling some of these beers at bars.

On a side note, there was a lot of NXNW beers last week, and this is not the first Black Star beer. Same goes for Uncle Billy's a couple of weeks ago - and they are already on sale at other places in Austin.

Is there any way of knowing if a certain beer will be bottled or in a keg?

Yeah, I can look through each of the TABC label approvals and it says what size container it is for. Any one in particular you are looking for?

Were you talking about Mirror Mirror or the Westbrook Gose in the pic on the previous page?

Both of those approvals are for keg only.

I wonder if it ever gets confusing when things like "No Label is Approved" or "We have approved No Label" or "We have not approved No Label" are said/typed

Ah dam it! jaja, thanks just the same hoss!
I would say if it did happen, itd be more often when said, typed you can always capatalize, but thats not to say it doesnt happen either I guess. The other day a guy msgd me with an offer for a trade including some Peche Mortels, and he says to me e/ PM is 6$, now keep in mind it was late at night, and Id been drinking, but I took it as e/ msg was 6$ for him. I said holy cow, what country are you in?! jajaja. With that said, I GUESS if that can happen to me, this can also happen. Carry on. XD

Looks like the 1809 Berliner has dropped at D&Q (Label shows 5%)

I thought you couldn't distribute if you sold beers other than your own, which Black Star does.

IIRC, you can't self-distribute. They're in the same boat as Jester King.

Got 1809 in at my store, then it was picked back up by the distributor. I'm assuming it has to do with the label.

Well that sucks. Maybe Texas figured out 5 and 9 are actually different numbers...

They probably read this thread and had an "oh shit" moment. So, I blame everyone on here for this.

    Wait, seriously?

The label says 5, any realistic tests would say 5, and the beer is 5.

Somehow TABC said 9 and then their "tests" revealed 9 as well, and because that disagrees with TTB and with reality, that would cause a recall?

Does anyone else think that maybe there's something fishy in the above sentences?
