I am relatively new to the craft brew community, and keep reading and seeing people trading for beer that I would love to get my hands on but being in west texas, i don't think i have anything that someone would want to trade. Is there anything that I can get here that someone would want and be willing to send me some great beers to start off a noobs collection?
Theres plenty good beers. Jester King, St. Arnold Releases, Limited releases from breweries we get other states dont. You will get trades but dont expect to trade like St. Arnolds Pumpkinator for beers like a Dark Lord or other hard beers to obtain. Start out by trading Texas locals with locals of other states. Youll get the hang of it and Seekabrew.com is always helpful
Yeah, locals for locals is an excellent way to get into the game. (And for a lot of folks, it is the game; don't be intimidated by all the crazy rare ISO stuff in the forums.) If you've got access to St Arnold, Jester King, Freetail or Real Ales, you should definitely be able to hook up some trades. Be sure to fill out your Gots to give folks an idea of what you have available on your shelves.
send deschutes east send boulevard smokestacks to people who don't have them yet send locals for locals
Alaskan, Deschutes, Boulevard, Freetail, Jester King, Oskar Blues, Saint Arnold (to name a few) would all be desirable things for someone like me here in Ohio. Fill you gots list of things that you can get/have, and fill your wants list of things you are looking for.
He says west TX, so depending on where, he might actually be in a desolate beer wasteland, where the beers mentioned don't show up often.
Thanks guys, keep the tips coming. I def have most of those. Jester king makes it out this way, and i also have a friend that lives in austin who can bring stuff this way every time he comes. I will have to get started on those lists.
