i just saw this on their website. Closing Dec. 1st. They have some very nice glass wear that, if you can't get to TG in person, would be a nice addition to any collection. I just ordered a PS pint glass and a TG golden chalice. Pumped!

Pumped for the glass wear, wish they weren't closing.

Yeah...this is pretty crappy news. They gave it a shot, but I guess the response hasn't been what they were hoping. I think if they had a store that was incorporated into their website and not a widget that pops out, it may have been better received/used. It is a bit clunky and awkward.

That said, I hope to get in order in before it shuts down!

Can somebody post a link to the store, if you have found it? I heard that it was closing before and went to the site and couldn't find the store at all. I even saw a post about their hoodies and when I clicked on it, all it did was take me to a page where I could comment on their post.

There is a drop down on the top right of the site. Just checked and it's working for me.

Otherwise, LMK I will be rolling through Decorah over Thanksgiving and could pick something up for ya.

Bummed. I was waiting for them to offer work shirts before I ordered online.

The glassware is cool, I was just never thrilled with any of the apparel designs.

Thanks, found it! But I have a feeling that I may now know why their store didn't fair so well. At least in my browser (latest version of Chrome), that tab was hidden behind the white header frame. I had to do a scroll and tap on the white header and then "pow" it moved to the front and I could see it. But I had been on the site several times already and that was never apparent before, without doing these steps, which I would never have even tried without somebody confirming that it was really there. I had already guessed that it had closed early.

Their logo gear strikes me as funny, because the black, white and red graphic makes it look like they are some early industrial band. Especially with the TG as initials, which makes me think of Throbbing Gristle.

Oh, nice. Just ordered a gold-printed chalice. It's a bummer that they're closing the online store, but I do agree that the presentation is probably a part of the reason it didn't do as well as expected. It took me a few minutes to find the store the first time.

The prices are really, really reasonable since they include shipping. For $14 I ordered a Sue pint glass and the gold chalice. The Sue glass isn't the great pint glass ever design wise, but it's a nice additional to the collection, and I love Sue!

It appears the online store will survive. It will be going away for a while, but will return in the future along with a possible new website!

Thank you for telling us what you like and don’t like about the opportunity you have to purchase TG Gear on line. Here is what we are going to do. Remember, we are here to make great beer first. We do not have the capital to sit on a lot of inventory unless they are green and smell like pseudoSue! Of course we did not expect the fees to be as high as they are. We are not computer programmers/website builders and do not have a budget for it (yet).

We are going to fix the things we can fix, adjust the margins to cover the unexpected fees, and continue to put 99.9% of our energy into making and delivering great beer. If you have been with us you know that our time is being monopolized with getting used to and rebuilding to our specs, a lot of new equipment. That being said, as soon as we can shift a gear in the brewery, we will completely revamp the web site and look at building you a Hop Patrol Swag Center that rivals Mikes great beer!

Thanks again for speaking up, and your support and suggestions for improving! By the way, the last time we had brewers work shirts for sale they took forever to sell! Just sayin’. Maybe we can change that at Assassin Day 2014!

    Cheers!

    Clark

Also, someone pointed out in the FB comments that while they did offer work shirts at one point, they were only available in Decorah.

Selling them online would probably help them sell much faster, Clark.

Yeah, not sure I understand that last statement Clark made. I get it but I'm not sure if it was necessary.

You are probably correct, I hope!

We will give them another try, they cost us a lot, and if you fans don't mind the price they will be a main stay. They are very high quality work shirts. As I mentioned, after we work out our production kinks for 2014 we will do much better with our on line store, and add the things you all want.

So, what do you want to have available for purchase when we release Assassin 2014, PVW barrel aged stout? Pretty sure Mike is designing a Teku.

And thanks again everyone for all the feedback!

We are pretty dedicated to insuring that all facets of what we do is both of value to our fans, and desired.

Now get ready for our next Pale Ale Series being bottled under the XHOPS labels. We are going to be in need of your feedback more than ever! The label has a specific email address so you can tell us about your experience. The day we release it, Mike or I will start a thread and go into more detail on each color coded label and the time frames that you can expect to see them.

Hope to see you all in Decorah!

Thanks for the additional info on the online store, Clark!

As for what type of merch to have at Assassin Day 2014....Hop Patrol work shirts, hats, a teku would be sweet for sure, bottle openers!

Really looking forward to the XHops series and will be providing as much feedback as I can, as long as we are able to get them here in DSM! :-)

Looking forward to my first Assassin Day. A teku would be awesome and seems to be the current trend. Any idea when Assassin Day will be?

Also looking forward to the XHops series! will they only be available in Decorah? Or plan to distribute to your usual locations? Thanks for producing such great beer.

BTW, will you all be at BrrFest in Coralville in January?
