Hate to admit it, but I like the name Angry Snakebite, and I bet I could probably make do with a few of those as well.

Considering it's Applebee's, that's cool that they are kinda trying. But, obviously those aren't all that exciting if you are really into craft beer.

That said... If I go to an Applebee's that has this on the menu, and they don't have any worthwhile on tap... I might try one of these blends. If I have to drink crap, it might as well be fancy new crap.

It's TGIF but I agree. I do think the Blue Moon Guinness mix is unique though. Kind of fun stuff. These are obviously commercial, intriguing mixes for most people. The cool thing is what will brewpubs and breweries mix with Craft??

A local bar in Tuscaloosa serves the Blue Moon and Guinness blend, and my friend referred to it as a craft beer. Sigh.

I've always referred to that as a black & blue. Shandy's aren't anything new either.

For what it's worth, as I drank my Maredsous 10 tripel last night at my local Yard House restaurant, I noticed that they too have started offering these 'blends' on their menu. I sneered at first, but now I'm mildly curious to see if any of them are actually enjoyable. At the least, these 'blends', if they prove popular, might inspire further creativity from the craft breweries, which can only be a good thing, right?

How has no one mentioned that all of these blends already exist, and have names that TGI Fridays completely botched?

Neat concept though. Props to corporate for trying.

After a long bike ride on a hot day a shandy at the pub is pretty refreshing....though I usually have them with lemonade, not sprite.

Life it too short for TGIFs. Please find a better place to treat yourself to on a Friday night. You've worked hard.

I somehow found myself on a party bus going to an event a couple of weeks ago and a friend of mine showed up with a growler. Naturally curious since these were not your typical craft beer types, I inquired as to what he had brought. He replied he wasn't sure, but that it was a "blend" of different beers. I bit my tongue.

A local bar had DFH WWS and 120 on draft and did a sort of Black & Tan they called "Heaven and Hell". Pretty sure they didn't come up with the name though.

If nothing else, it was definitely high in alcohol.

I had a 50/50 of SA Cherry Wheat and Rogue Chocolate Stout that was called a "Chocolate-Covered Cherry". I dug that one.
