Mystic will be taking care of us this Thanksgiving. Table beer and their new brut saison are perfect food beers. Maybe we'll crack open something from the cellar after dinner.

Fiancee and I are hosting both sides of the (soon to be) family, and I'm responsible for the turkey, should be fun.

I made a huge trip to Tree House last week for a variety of goodies for the future in-laws, Double Shot included. Thinking of breaking out a bottle of Trillium's Coconut Pecan Pie, or my final bottle of Affogato for dessert  I'm excited, I feel like I'm really adulting!

Nod Hill? Been hearing good things from a few friends near there, but haven't tried them yet. Interested to hear your thoughts.

Yes, Nod Hill, that's it. I had a beer from them when they first opened and it was middle of the road, but my brother says they've improved. we'll see!

Improved for sure and they are my local ... I've had every beer they've made over the first year. I truly enjoy supporting them as often as I can.

That said, they are still well down the list of CT breweries still. Not on par with NEBCO, Counter Weight, Tribus, Beer'd, Fox Farm (etc etc. ... and yes I am sure I missed some). That said, I will be there with out of town family at some point this weekend, I am sure. They do blow most of the other Fairfield County breweries out of the water (not hard admittedly). They are also putting out a wide variety of styles unlike a lot of places ... This weekend on draft they will have 2 pales, 2 IPS, a porter, Maple Coffee Cocoa Imperial Stout, Trappist inspired single, Dry hopped rustic and a Belgian Blonde with a DIPA, Bitter and Biere de Garde on deck. Plus the DIPA, Biere de garde and Single in cans and a variety of "Belgian-y" bottles.

I lied. Neither of my package stores had Thanksgiving Ale, and I decided to pass up on Alexander in lieu of Allagash Coolship Resurgam and Farm to Face.

House Lager and Notch Session Pils are the gen pop beers (most people drink wine or scotch at my parents).

I put an Anna, KBS, and the Impermeance I picked up at TH in the fridge. Not sure what will actually get popped. Might toss in a Drie Kriek if I feel frisky.

The Frombelmonty's have no family in the States, so just a couple of other expats coming round.

    One non drinking Muslim.
    Her non drinking Muslim boyfriend.
    A cider drinker.
The guy who's had to quit alcohol on health reasons.

    Wifefrom has her treehouse.

I'll have a couple of Celebration leading up to dinner, Rothaus with the meal, Lamplighter brunch with planes trains and automobiles later on.

I watch Plains, trains, and automobiles every year around thanksgiving. Usually on the Wednesday before. I watched it last night. What a great movie...
