I'm talking about that beer style you have maybe just a few times a year.
    Mine is/are red/amber ales. I like the
toasted malt character and it's dry finish.

Every once in awhile I just get a taste for a:

    Nugget Nectar
    Lucky 13
    Nosferatu
    Red Rocket
    Red Seal
    Santa's Private Reserve
    etc.......

    How about you?

Some sort of honey wheat. Honey Moon was on tap every summer until it was decided to make 143 different variants of Blue Moon. Luckily only about 143 of them are awful.

Rauchbier for me, I love one while roasting a pig and we do that twice a year.

Belgian IPAs.... Every season when Le Terroir comes out, I drink and enjoy it immensely..... However, it's the only time of year I drink them.....

Definitely imperial stouts/BA stouts. I give them the highest ratings of almost any style, but at the same time too much of a good thing has burnt me out several times. Even in the winter I'm usually only good for 8-12oz on a given day and once or week max. Anything more and I feel pallet fatigue for the style.

Hefeweizens and witbiers. One is good now and then, but I get sick of the spice flavor after that.

Agree with sours. Gato Rojo or Consecration, will see, buy but save then on a rare moon, enjoy. Respect the sour, but not a common thing.

You definitely have to be in the mood for a Rauchbier. This is probably my answer too. If good ones were more readily available that may change.

For whatever reason, Aventinus has been a "celebration" beer for me for years now--just for those little victories that happen a couple or few times a year.

Saisons and fruit beers - enjoy them in summer over the hottest months and then back to my usual rotations. A couple 4 packs of Brewery Vivant Farmhand, one of Boulevard Tank 7 and 1-2 New Glarus fruit beers will typically be enough for the year.

Belgian quads, I like a lot of them, but only want them occasionally.
