What is the trading value for this beer? I have access to Sucaba, Framboise Amorosa, Cuvee the Tomme, Black Tuesday. Is it difficult to get during its release?
It varies. 2010 was easy to find for a few months, 2011 vanished within a month. It isn't that hard to find, and you can almost certainly buy the 2012 in your area without having to trade for it. You'll have to trade for 2011 now that it is gone. Also, it is spelled Abyss, and Cuvee de Tomme.
Thanks, I have a Black Tuesday and a Victory at Sea that I would like to trade for 3 bottles of The Abyss. Would that be a fair trade?
I would pretty much guarantee you'll be able to find someone willing to make that trade. The only issue is that because it was released over 6 months ago, there might not be many people with three bottles left.
I would also say that you wouldn't have much trouble at all. There are still stores with it on the shelves, though. I know of two people, in different states, that bought multiple bottles off the shelf in the last two weeks.
unless there's a "venn diagram" problem of people who have abyss also having access to victory at sea, i don't think you'd have trouble splitting it up into 2 trades; 2 abyss 2011 for 1 black tuesday, and 1 abyss for 1 VaS. i agree that the only thing stopping the trade from happening all at once is just the question of 1 person having 3 or more bottles. re: fairness, looks good both ways to me.
