"according to Dan at Mercury." Can that be Dan Lipke, our long-gone-pro local homebrew dude? If so, he must be very proud to be the first to contract-brew one of your beers, John. All the best to you both!

It is Dan Lipke. He's the head brewer at Mercury.

Thanks for posting John. Great to get information directly from the source.

I would love to buy this when it's released! I generally don't drink a lot of sorghum and/or gluten-free beers but I enjoyed Celia when I had it on tap once.

Will that include some places (New Hampshire) that don't make it very easy for out-of-state breweries to enter distribution, and currently see more beers driving through the state on their way to and from Maine and Vermont than are offered in the state? I'm hoping so.

Also, is the plan just to bottle Celia, or to do kegs as well--either now or in the future?

p.s. How about Wee Widdle Wabbit in 16oz cans? You will lose a few customers but they will die happy.

Drinking one now and a quick judgement after sips my amazing palate and revewing skills rate this as a "meh" nice to try but I can't imagine ever buying it again. I hope I can get to the Odins Tipple that I've been craving for weeks!

Something now posted on Alchemist Cannery's FB page that first batch is recalled due to quality control issues. Let's see, it's not April 1st - anybody down in MA hear more about this?

I didn't hear that but maybe qc issues have to do with it not being very good. Not a good way to start out with the contract brewing.

The Facebook page sounds like they didn't know it already hit shelves.

It already sold out at Craft Beer Cellar, too.

Just a quick review of it: I didn't think it was anything special tasted more like a witbier than a saison.

It was recalled. I had some waiting for me but the beer manager at the store emailed me saying that the brewery had recalled the beer

I thought it was pretty flavorless in general.

Sounds like it didn't turn out right. I've had it at the pub and it was decent beer. I wonder if people with actual gluten allergies will get to drink this beer since the beer geeks are going nuts like it's Heady Topper.

From what I understand they plan to mass produce this and ship along the east coast.
