I am taking a trip to Burlington Vermont next Tuesday 7/19 for my bday and I want to stop at the new alchemist brewery on the way. What would be the best time to get there to guarantee my self heady toppers, focal banger, and crusher and to get some tastings?

If you get there between 10 and 11 you'll get everything available that day.

 

They've been selling out of Heady & Crusher roughly 2.5 hours into the day, completing roughly 250 transactions per hour. Assuming not everyone gets a full allotment, we're looking at 500 available per day. If you arrive before noon, especially on a Tuesday, you should be guaranteed everything except maybe not the special release (Wit). Samples are available all day, and once Crusher/Heady are sold out, they offer more Focal in their place until sold out.

How does the special release work, like the Sterk Wit? You can get this on top of your full mixed case? One four pack per person? Haven't seen these details anywhere. Thanks!

 

Q: Will there be limits on beer purchases?
A: Yes. We are trying to accomplish 2 things with our daily allocations. We want to spread our beer out as much as possible. We also want to make sure our customers and beer enthusiasts can purchase enough beer so that the visit is worthwhile. When we open this summer we will start out with the following purchase limits per person: 1 case of Focal Banger and 1 mixed case of Heady Topper and current specialty (to be announced at opening). Of course, 4-packs can be sold singly, but only up to 3 four-packs of Heady and specialty per person.

 

This is not accurate ... this is what was originally published, but they quickly realized it was ambitious (or not what they wanted to do). Here is the current Q&A with regards to limits.

Q: What beers will be available this summer?
A: We will have mixed cases of Focal Banger, Heady Topper and Crusher available throughout the summer. In addition to these beers, we will be releasing small batch specialty beers randomly. John has begun pulling some favorite recipes from the pub, so you can expect almost anything to become available. These releases will not be announced or produced on any set schedule. When these beers are released, you will be able to buy one 4-pack in addition to a mixed case. All 4-packs will cost $12.50 plus tax and deposit, regardless of style.

 

So far it has been a mixed case (2) each of Focal, Heady, Crusher until they run out. When the Sterk Wit was offered you could get that on top of the mixed case.

When the mixed cases have run out, they have been selling Focal while it remains. Between 2-4 four packs per I think.

When I was there last week, if you did not want the mixed case. You could get 2 four packs of Heady or Focal.

In order to buy the special 4pk drop, you HAVE to buy the mixed case. No if-and-or-buts.

 

how is the wit? all talk of logistics and nothing to say of the beer

 

I like it. I definitely wouldn't buy a full case of it if given the opportunity, but it's a well crafted beer that nails a style that isn't often attempted these days. As an added bonus, I would assume this isn't the type of beer that will fade significantly a few weeks after purchase.

Amazing beer. This was only draft before? For the first canning run of it, it's amazing right out of the can. I watched the video, and did as John asked and poured it into a glass and the smell and taste is incredible.

I'm a local to Allagash and I prefer this over White any day, anywhere.

How's the line?

 

If I want just Focal Banger, and am coming out this weekend (7/15-7/18)would I need to arrive early or would be avail thru out day? Was thinking of either Fri afternoon (2pm-ish) or Sat (11am-ish).
