    Please, elaborate on this deduction

Not like they would ever explicitly say that...so all you're left with is deduction.

I mean, have you ever gotten any indication that they do enjoy these releases, or producing these beers, looking the owners and brewers in the eye directly on or around release day?

Surely, they appreciate the fact that they can remain in business, but that aside, I get heaps of disdain and disappointed vibes from all involved.

When it takes a bunch of pureed Halloween candy to get people to buy your beer, I'm sure you'd feel the same.

I guess I can see what you are saying, but when multiple people from the brewery say “x pastry stout is my favorite beer we make” it goes against that a little bit.

I'm sorry you don't live closer my friend.

I've spent many days sitting with Ryan and others just talking about beer, these guys are very passionate and particular about their beer. I've seen Ryan and Ben both just taste a beer and reject it, then pull it from the taps.
I'm sorry you have a negative prospective about their releases and if TBBW is your only time in contact with this than i totally understand why.

I'm not saying my experiences were negative. And I believe they are passionate about beer. I've actually seen them do exactly that same thing with a keg they weren't satisfied with. But I also think if they felt they could be financially successful without the pastry stouts, they'd jump at the chance. Just my opinion though, and not like they'd tell the pastry hoard to stop consuming.

Upstate NY, along the Southern Tier. As of yet, I have never waited in line to buy beer.

I can't speak for Angry Chair. Their friends of mine. I can tell you that there are hundreds of breweries out there that feel as if they've sold out by having to brew beer strictly to pander to the trader, hoarder, pastry, floccboi crowd. A lot of these breweries brew spectacular beer but never got any notice...or business, until they started brewing rainbow Berliners, NEIPAs and adjunct laden pastry stouts against their better judgement. Does it work? Yes. It helps them pay the bills so they can brew the beer they actually want to brew and be proud of. And as far as Angry Chair...they used to brew the absolute best American Amber/Red I've ever had. Not a hype style but it was perfect. Haven't seen it in quite a while.

If AC started canning some of these other offerings, I'm sure most of us would be all about it. This would provide an outlet for all of their delicious beers that don't fall under the pastry stout category. There was one run during TBBW and that was it. Not sure what happened or why they haven't done another run. I'm definitely ready for them to bottle something else besides a stout. But, when these things are selling out in under an hour, I can easily see why that hasn't happened.

I've always heard that mobile canning is not great margins for breweries. So you do a lot of work for less money on products/styles that don't have nearly the attention that stouts get. Since they are small space and already have a bottling line then it makes sense to focus on pushing out the stuff that sells instantly. Despite the Angry Chair name I can't imagine a line for cans of a red ale or a helles lager or saison. They can be world class examples but no stout, no care for many. And I agree with above that red ale was excellent, I also really enjoyed Silver Alert.

Thankfully there are some other great breweries nearby so many great different beers in the neighborhood for something other than stouts. When I'm on that side of town I definitely stop in to AC for a stout or porter fix and then 7th for some IPAs and sour/brett beers(and lately lagers!!!).

Definitely if they did cans of some of their porters (2 pump chump and stuff like that), some of their IPA’s, and especially their sours, those would be well received. Not sure if other styles would be though.

Anyone know if these were done on a mobile can line or did they purchase one?
