Did you go to the brewery or did you get these in a trade?

Belgian yeast generally has some pretty extreme flavors so I would probably be unhappy if I bought crowlers just labeled "IPA" with no mention of Belgian yeast, but they may have mentioned it on the menu and I'm sure they never promise that any of their beers are "true to style".

Beware: If you arrive after leaving Veil on a Tuesday there may be an excessive wait for fills. On Tuesday after waiting in line for about 20min I was told there was a 90min wait for fills.

My wife was nice enough to pick me up a couple Joose Crowlers and I was blown away. Kromer Blueberry and Stonefruit Popsicle were incredible. Hingleberry and 2 Scoops were very good. These are the very first beers my wife actually liked. For the first time in my 6 years in the hobby, she wanted seconds. And she was excited for each one we opened. Hats off to Answer for doing something so novel.

And I have to say I'm not sure anyone in beer has more fun and seems to enjoy his legions of fans more than An. What a classy guy.

Also, they will automatically substitute a different Joose variant if the one you order kicks while you're waiting.

Sorry y'all I have followed this entire thread and haven't seen this question asked. I was thinking about coming up to the answer next Monday before the holiday. Two questions...will growlers be on sale then? Anyone know if they plan to move things up with the holiday? Thanks in advance!

Not confirmed but with them being closed on the 4th I do expect Crowlers of Joose on Monday. The IPAs are available every day for unlimited Crowler fills. It's just the Joose that is typically Tues, Thurs and whatever other days An feels like offering them.

You mentioned growlers. They do not do growlers of their house beers or Andalls. Those would just be Crowlers. They do however offer 32oz and 64oz fills of a good number of their guest taps. It's not always 100% accurate but Untappd is a good point of reference for what guest taps they are offering. It also lists cost for guest and house fills. If you do happen to bring growlers for fills keep in mind it must be the swing top style. The Answer should have both sizes of their own growlers for sale if you don't have one. Prices are good for them too. I want to say under $10 for a 64oz and maybe around $5 for the 32oz empty.

I'm thinking they will also stick with their typical Monday specials too. I believe ALL drafts at both The Answer and Mekong are only $5 on Monday. Anyone know if they still do this?

Oh man I never realized they stopped doing growlers of the house IPAs. I've had my 64oz swing top filled many times in the past.

I could be wrong. I have only ever done Crowlers of their beers. Have not tried to fill a growler and really only see Crowlers people post too. They could very well do them.

You are correct! Just checked Untappd and they do in fact list both 32oz and 64oz growler fills of the house IPAs. I guess most do Crowlers mainly instead for their ease of transporting and lasting a little longer.

For those of us that have not had the pleasure to visit the Answer, but have had copious amounts of crowlers of this Nectar from the gods. Can anyone explain the process? Is it a base Gose or Berliner and then fruit is added in the keg. Or does everything actually go though a R-- Andall? I swear some of this is like drinking a Mimosa.

If i ever do get to Richmond I will make sure I have my Health insurance information because i would end up in a Diabetic coma from all the fruity goodness i would consume. (the IPAS are the Tits as well)

I guess it being the night before a holiday may mean they're not playing but The Answer's Monday-night "house band," Mekong Express, alone is worth the trip.

I have been told by someone who works there that they actually make and keg the flavor concentrates and then the draft system blends them with the base beers (gose, berliner, stout, whatever) as the draft is pulled.
