I think the IPA prices are on their site but the joose crowlers were about $20 last time I grabbed some.

I have been told by multiple people that they basically purée the fruit or whatever adjuncts they're using in a blender along w/ the beer then add directly to the kegs. I've also been told that they use Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose as their gose base and either Speedway Stout or Founders Imperial for their stout base. I don't know how true it is, but I have heard from different people in different groups that they're only brewing IPAs in house.

It's going to be quite the day in Richmond tomorrow. Appears The Answer is releasing their new collab with Other Half.

Nothing But Net - This is a collaborative DIPA made with our friends at Other Half in Brooklyn, NY. Nothing But Net is a hazy DIPA with Mosaic, Galaxy, and Motueka hops, triple dry hopped and doused with Mosaic lupulin powder. Nets stay wet. Believe that.

An posted that The Answer will have some pre-filled (not sure the exact count) Crowlers today to help with the wait times that have been an issue recently. Below is what they will have. Will post the full list of IPAs/Joose availability once they provide that information too.

So people are paying $20/crowler for someone to add fruit juice to a shelf gose?

I stopped by again this past Saturday for dinner and was (knowingly) disappointed that I could not pay $20 to take a few jooses that I drank home. So yeah.

Possibly more than fruit juice. I went with my wife on Saturday night, she ordered one of the jooses, and her comment to me was "I like these, but they're really hard to drink because they're so sweet". I tried hers and was pretty shocked that it had never registered with me how incredibly sweet they are. I think she's right too, every time I go I drink one and that's it. I feel like they have to be adding either sweetened fruit juice or straight sugar. I saw someone on a facebook group trading these crowlers for Cantillon, I honestly can't think of anything more ridiculous in the beer world right now.

    IPAs for today
    - Nothing But Net collab w/ OH (4 Crowler Limit/pp)
    - TDH Monday Games DIPA (No Crowler Limit/pp)
    - TDH Megablast TIPA (No Crowler Limit/pp)

    JOOSE
    - See post above with pic of Crowlers

From an old pinned post on the group fb page, one of the admins did state, "These things are packed with sugar.", when they wanted to address the issue of several Crowlers exploding during storage / shipping by people. I think they use fresh fruit for all of them and just add a lot of sugar behind it. As someone posted earlier this week, fruit and fruit puree are not cheap. And An does every one himself so one person's time is money. Not that I agree with the cost they charge for something that only comes in at around 4% which it one reason I've never purchased a Crowler. I'm happy getting just pours when I visit. I'll save my Crowler $$ for their IPAs to get the best bang (no pun intended) for money.

I had always assumed the sugars were just from the fruit and/or juice they could be adding, but I can see how maybe they could be putting some sugar in also.
Guess we are all different, I enjoy the stouts there also, but can only have one taster or two at the most bc they are usually insta-diabeetus. The jooses I could drink all day.

I do feel the same way about the stouts, I ordered a flight one time and was really regretting it after about 8 oz. Now I usually just try a small pour of whichever one sounds the best.

While I don't think they have specifically said one way or the other, my impression as always been that the "sugar" they are referring to in various posts is from the massive amount of fruit, not added sugar.

Have never made it to the Answer. Are Crowlers available every day? I see that they have a pretty good hours - do Crowlers make it to closing? Just trying to avoid going down from NOVA and not getting a Crowlers.

Was thinking about going to Veil / Answer on a Tuesday after work (arrive around 7:30pm) or Answer Then TC on a Saturday. Goal would be to take a much home as I can.

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
