The Answer

I've got a good friend heading to Richmond middle of this week. Anyone know what will be on at The Answer? I saw they were releasing a new DIPA tomorrow. Anything else on that he can and should get a crowler of?

 

Yeah, I'd probably hit up Hardywood then The Answer (I'm thinking about driving to RVA and doing just that).

 

They usually have the taplist available on their site but it's going on 2 weeks that has been down. not sure why it takes so long to fix. As for beers, you can't go wrong with just about any of their in house beers. Hard in The Paint is my favorite they do. Absolutely love it! Any of the Morning Juice offerings if they allow crowler fills. Typically they don't but the last batch they did. You can't get crowlers but their Andalls are almost always amazing

If your friend has some extra time be sure he goes around to the front of the building and check out Mekong too. Same owner, different beers and they also have Andall offerings. They don't serve The Answer beers though. Food is very good.

 

I appreciate it. I saw that Morning Juice 9 made it into crowlers but expected that it would be gone by now. I got to try Hard in the Paint at Huna day. Really good IPA.

 

I honestly think the better Morning Juice iterations are similar in quality to J Wakefields best Berliners. Miami Madness is incredible, but so are these Morning Juices. Perfect amount of tartness and loaded with pulpy, delicious fruit.

 

Wife went yesterday...they had She Good and Lost Identity on tap. Said Larceny and Mouth Hug were "coming soon" which could be in 10 min or 10 days from my experience but I'd think Damn Daniel is gonna be pretty amazing based on every other IPA they put out.

 

I have been there twice and cannot say I have had a beer that was not excellent, IPAs and randalled beers were awesome.

 

A few questions for anyone kind enough to help:
Anyone know if there are any new releases on the horizon?
Are they primarily announced via Facebook events?
They don't do crowler fills of the Andalls, do they?
And (I assume not, but...) any chance the site's beer list is going to be back up and running, soon?

 

I think their facebook frequently mentions the new ipas going on draft. It isn't too hard usually to get that info. No crowler/growler fills of Andalls.

 

I love the Answer! Go drink Josh Blum Barlywine... best Barlywine youll ever have in your life.

 

I have to agree with this.

 

If it's on Friday I'll try it. Founders had Spike Cutlass on during KBS week and nothing I've had compares to that. So far.

 

I can attest to this!! Never have been the biggest barleywine drinker, but this right here changed everything!

 

Is there a difference in tap lists between The Answer and the Mekong restaurant?

 

No crowlers of Morning Juice or Damn Daniel left?

 

they purposefully never have the same thing on tap at the same time - between the 2 you have access to over 100 different taps
