    APA = Averagely Perfect American
    IPA = India Pale Ale
    BIF = Beer It Forward

    It looks like there about 30+ brewers planning on brewing Vikeman's crowd sourced recipe.

    My question is how many of you are interested and willing to trade your brew?

    There are a number of ways to do a homebrewing BIF. I've participated in a few of them. In the spirit of the APA IPA I'll send out a series of polls to help determine what the crowd would like to do.

    This poll will be open for 72 hours.

    Maybe. If I brew it I will trade it but I haven't committed to brewing the APA IPA.

    How is this going to be fulfilled? Just curious.

    Depends on when the BIF happens. I won't have a chance to brew this for a while, but if I have it brewed in time I would be up for a BIF.

    Thanks, I just figured out I can see who voted which way. I didn't know I could do that. :slight_smile:

    I think I'd like to participate but just wondering how the shipping is going to work. Shipping one bottle each to 30+ different people is not feasible obviously.

    Exactly. Once I get an idea of the number of people interested, I will look for suggestions on how to manage and then poll for a consensus. I also plan to poll for brewing and shipping time frames, and I'm sure other questions will arise as well.

    I would assume splitting into groups.

    If one of my hoppy beers makes it to the second round of NHC and I have to rebrew, I'm in, as I'll rebrew and do the APA IPA the same day. Let me know re the timeline for this, as it might eliminate me altogether.

    Maybe, depending on when I get around to brewing it. It could be the next beer I brew, but that might be a few months off.

    No offense or anything but the "no" option in the poll doesn't make a lot of sense. If everyone who read this poll voted and most said no you would have a whole lot of useless information to sort through lol. Just an observation.

    Jerk, thanks for that out. :slight_smile: (jk)

    That crossed my mind after I saw it posted, but couldn't figure out how to edit it.

    So are you in? I didn't see your name in the votes....

    Here was my thought on how do do it. Determine how many bottles everyone is willing to send out, for this example, lets say 12. Get a group of 13 BA's and pick a group leader. The other 12 BA's in that group would ship 12 beers to the leader. The leader divides them up so everybody gets 1 of each. Everybody sends a label to the leader to ship a box back to them. For being the leader and doing the sorting and packing up of 12 boxes, you don't have to pay any shipping. Everybody else has to pay shipping both ways, but they will get a box with 12 different brewers beers in it.

    For an exchange this size, this is probably a good way to do it. I like to try everyone's beers, but shipping to 20+ people is prohibative. This method will probably be in the subsequent poll.

    And I change my answer from maybe to yes.:grinning: I'm in.

    edit: just looked at the maybes. Vikeman, really?

    I voted maybe, because I'm not sure when I'll be brewing this, hopefully in the next month or so.
