Maybe the mango habanero version. The others sound terrible. I am not a fan of the base beer, never understood the popularity of this beer.

Maibock seems to be the style most associate with Spring (because that’s when it’s released on tradition), but honestly the flavors are more like a fall beer IMO. A light funky saison, Grissette, Wit or even a nicely made Pilsner feel most like a spring beer to me.

Free States' Brinkleys Maibock...long ago rebranded to Brinkleys HellesBock.

And of course, Sierra Nevada Summerfest

    But it's summer-like somewhere.

I'll have an Oberon tomorrow, and I'm still considering whether I'll have it at the Eccentric Café. Plus, I presume that the local donut shop that makes the Oberon-themed donut will also have them available too, so that's on my to-do list for tomorrow too. Picture to follow.

But Maibocks are what triggers spring in my mind.

C'mon -- you know that's not the case; it's Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern. Won't be Summer in the Northern until June.

Spring doesn’t start until breweries start releasing their summer seasonals….

I have noticed some breweries dont do "spring seasonals" anymore which is unfortunate. If you are going to skip one of the 4 seasonal releases that would be the one to skip. People are saying Bock beer reminds them of spring yet so many breweries dont have a bock as a spring seasonal and instead give you a IPA lol.

Bocks for me.....although I do not see many these days - this one is not bad, and the "Spring Bock" from BrewDog is a decent bock as well - Thirsty Dog here in Akron does a pretty nice "Maibark" too....bring back more bocks!

Finding & seeing a greater abundance of craft Bocks, and then Pilsners, IPLs, and lighter beers in general let's me know "Boing!" It's Springtime!

Yeah, all this stuff. Specifically Hofbrau Maibock for me. Usually Hofbrauhaus Cleveland has it on draught for their Easter Brunch. Not sure it will be on this year, as Easter is pretty early, but here's to hoping!

The joint NY and NJ brewers' organizations used to proclaim a specific March Day as BOCK DAY and member brewers would all release their seasonal bocks at that time.

Spokesgoat "Billy Bock" even noted that it was to "welcome the coming of Spring..."

I know it's a year-round beer, but to me helles = the ultimate spring beer. That's when the Munich biergartens start opening, and for me that's what helles is all about.

Saw the Oberon today, passed it up for a local Maibock.

I know I'll be able to find Oberon over the next 5 months, so I haven't lost a chance.
