I just had a ...... I didn't like it for what it is held up to and tasted like one of my local @$2.50 beers that I enjoy and don't pay a $12 a bottle price tag. I'm not saying the name because I am sure many thought it was worth the price tag. Anybody have a whale that they didn't enjoy??

Where's the honor in asking our biggest whale disappointments and not revealing yours?

My first attempt at Better Half resulted in me drinking exactly 1 oz and letting it sit there where the other 4 people couldnt even finish the other 1 ozs. I had a bottle (the last was on tap) and it got better, but it was still super sweet.

I didn't like the origination of that beer either, nor backwoods bastard. Although I love Heresy and Insanity!! Lots cheaper too.

While I personally loved it, you really don't need to be afraid to receive hate for not liking a beer. Everyone's tastes are different and you'll find that people in the craft beer world are pretty accepting.

I loved better half... hit me up with some bms, and we can work out trades for any left over. Only managed one, wish I had some more.

I had 2 year old West 12, and enjoyed it less than the 8. Just underwhelming.

Didnt really care for Bar fly, thought the mouth feel was thin, baltic porter like. It also has too much char and a weird sour twang from the wine barrel.

Not really a whale, but Black Damnation V. Expensive and very distinct, but glad I traded my other bottle.

Moby Dick. He is a damn big whale but I just couldn't figure out all the hype about him. Mediocre at best...

Kabert may not be a whale but I really disliked it.

You're crazy!! Bar Fly is the best RIS I have had. Thick mouthfeel, chocolate, coffee, some char. It's a anti porter if anything. Please send me any Bar Fly you come across!

Not to be a jerk, but KBS isn't a whale, but anyway for me it would have to be 2011 PVW Dark Lord, I just Dark Lord too sweet and the PVW barrels didn't really help that.

The one that sticks out is HOTD Dave. HOTD is one of my top breweries, but I can't believe what people pay for this "beer".
