Never mind. Hopfather is 6.81%. So...really, really not a DIPA.

Nice to see 831 getting some love in this thread. I think it's very competitive but then again I'm a homer.

I was at the brewery/tasting room last Sunday and got the treatment from Tim. It was a great time and left with a couple of growlers. Also stopped by the Chevron and picked up some 3F and JP Sobrehumano. Can't wait to return.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Please translate the "picked up some 3F and JP Sobrehumano". "3F" as in Three Floyds?

Gotcha. I was gonna be shocked if AJ's had 3Floyds.

Everybody has their own opinion and that is what makes this fun, but a little background on the Head Hunter: It won the Bistro West Coast IPA Festival Gold in 2009, 4th place in 2010, 4th place in 2011 and Gold in 2012. Won Brewing News National IPA Challenge in 2010 AND 2012, Won a Silver and a Bronze at the Great American Beer Festival in consecutive years, Won the Gold at the 2010 Denver Intenational Beer Festival, Won the Silver at the 2012 World Beer Cup and was selected as one of the Top 25 Beers in the world by Draft Magazine in 2009. And Fat Head's has been open for a little over 3 years. That's hard to forget...

That always seems to happen at the Bistro IPA or DIPA Fest. Hoptologist anyone? I reviewed the results of the last four or five festivals and they made me LOL. At least the people's choice is more reliable...

Zing? Zing? Wow. You have a very astute way of refuting the OBVIOUS fact that the Head Hunter is not a forgetable IPA...at least not in the eyes of a whole lot of beer judges over the last 3 years.. By the way, in the 15 years of the Bistro IPA Festival NO brewery outside the state of California has won a Gold, Silver or Bronze except the 2 Golds by Fat Head's Head Hunter. Not Oregon. Not Washington. Not Colorado. The best West Coast IPA in the country is brewed on the North Coast!

Man I was just joking. I don't really care what judges think of it (or any beer, I happen to think that beer judging is one of the most asinine things in existence), I didn't really like it. I'm not sure why you're defending it so hard, but I thought that after a pointless thread necro and leaving a very, very easy joke setup I'd just make the joke.
