The Brew Gentlemen

Never heard of them.
Do they can/bottle anything?

 

They bottle some beers... mostly saisons but some others. They recently bottled their mosaic double IPA Foshomo (only 194 bottles), which I thought was amazing.

 

And I agree that Albatross and Akamai were outstanding as well.

 

Please don't blow our little Pittsburgh secret about BG. More for us...

 

Too bad it's 3 hours away or I'd be giving them more of my money.

 

been hearing more and more of this place.. if i'm ever out that way i'll stop in for sure!

 

had a couple of their beers, cpa and mammoth, and have been pretty impressed. looking forward to trying more from them.

 

Somebody just sent me a growler in a trade of a new IPA they released prob two weeks ago now. Thought the beer was absolutely fantastic. I would say it was on Tree House/ Trillium level as far as hoppy goes. Hazy has hell and tasted killer. I wish they were closer as Id love to try more hops from them

 

I'm guessing it was Akamai... awesome stuff.

 

Or maybe Trainwreck Timewarp. That was released recently as well.

 

Really dug BG when I was in Pittsburgh last month. Good spot to have a few beers. Interesting vibe, definitely a unique spot. Momo was my favorite brew that I tried but they were out of their more coveted releases - will have to try next time. Only regret was that I didn't get to try the BBQ. I went to Fat Head's as well (as I dig their beer) but if you can only stop at one place in pitt then BG is the place to go.

 

Yep that was it. He got it filled the day it was released and I was drinking it a couple days later. Amazing stuff

 

Too late, 2 growlers showed up to everyone's favorite advocate for not drinking beer. You can only cross your fingers that the beer is tainted at this point.

I'm looking forward to visiting next time I'm around Pittsburgh though!

That being said I have a friend who is traveling there next weekend and I asked him to bring me back some growlers. What is the best way to keep up to date on their tap list? Their nice website keeps current with what is on tap but anything posted about what's coming up?

A couple interesting notes on Brew Gentlemen...

Also, they are one of 3 breweries featured in the documentary 'Blood, Sweat & Beer'.

 

Been there twice in the past three weeks... Awesome stuff. General Braddock is incredible! Mammoth was just as epic. I enjoyed those beers just as much as all the Trillium I have stuffed into my face... And for me, more impressive than Tree House as well. Way under the radar!

Killer atmosphere, really chill place. Well worth the 2hr drive from Cleveland.
