Looking at my notes I generally agree with Enrh here but I actually seemed to have liked the Tequila one the best indicating that I enjoyed it more than Siesta Saturday (but probably because of the lack Cacao Nibs - which I am not always a fan of). I thought the Gin one was weird but I don't really drink Gin nor could I place its taste in a lineup..

When I shipped a few months ago the best price point was to ship 24 bottles; there was a huge non-logical price jump at 25 bottles; like shipping almost doubled by adding one bottle.. I asked The Bruery about this and they said they were still working through some changes (was likely that a second box was required causing the price jump) and expected things to be cheaper soon when doing 12 bottles (maybe a smaller box that could fit 12?). So I think the 15 number is long gone.

Once the November allocations hit I will have over 24 bottles in my cellar so plan to do Part 2 of my experiment. Finding the best prices points - is cost per weight the same for 12 and 24 or still savings with 24 etc?

Maybe you can do a $200 plus purchase in early 2026 and add the cans to the new "free shipping cellar merger system"? Not exactly sure how that will all work but seems plausible..

This new shipping policy is why I decided to sign up for 2026. Hopefully it will go smoothly as I plan to make 2 or 3 $200+ orders next year so I can add my allocations.

Cherry Grateful already sold out? Hard to believe that’s so popular to sell out already …

I wonder if they did a small batch to avoid sitting on any? A lot would have gone to included allotments.

Oh, I tested this too! $3 difference between 12 and 14 bottles.

Are you sure? It looks like everyone (even reserve - mixed) was supposed to get 2x. I have 2 in my cellar. It wasn’t immediately available at the start of the month but was added for me eventually.

Tue I placed a cellar shipment request. Wed I got an email notification that some (non-specified) beers had packaging delays and that my shipment would be delayed (NBD, and I appreciated the notice).

I wonder if Cherry Grateful was the culprit?

In the past, "packaging delays" has meant a few potential things:
    1. Literally the beers not in bottles. Something broke, people were out sick, whatever.
    2. Yield was lower than expected. For a beer with this many adjuncts, that's very plausible. They're pausing new sales until they make sure they have inventory.
    3. They oversold and are scrambling to come up with a plan (I'm not sure this has happened more than once, probably unlikely)

Yeah I realized I'm just dumb - I spaced on that it was a September beer. Thought it came out for this month as it was listed in the 'New Releases' section of the October 'New Beers' email, then saw it was sold out, and wasn't on this month's allocations order receipt.
I see now do have two in the cellar from last month. Thanks for that!

Edit: I looked back and my September new releases email does not mention the Cherry Grateful release at all...so they definitely snuck that one in! Still should have checked my cellar before getting riled up though.

What was the deal with that again? Idaho taproom exclusive or something?

I think so. First anniversary release there. A friend happened to pass through and grabbed me one.

Just finished my last Fireproof from the Distiller's Box set. It's pretty excellent. The body and texture reminds me a lot of Parabola. I don't get much port barrel, but it does have a really great natural dark chocolate flavor.

Opened a 2020 Apfelsap. Drinking fine. I never liked this one as much as I wanted to, but the flavor is still fresh and vibrant.

Am I understanding correctly that there aren't any BT variants this year other than Blender's Choice? Or do they sometimes appear later? I'm not counting the BT-based beers that appear throughout the year.

That's my impression. Never say never... But I feel like they usually tease those box sets extensively. To drop one unannounced next month would definitely be atypical.
