We All Scream (2025) I hadn't tried either batch of this until now. The blended stout base is really excellent. Rich, smooth, and creamy. Great for adjuncts. I hope they use it again. I'm being very picky here since it's an expensive beer, but the strawberry is too tart for me. It's NOT infected, it's definitely a natural reasonable strawberry taste. Just happened to be the fruit they got I assume. If they re-brew I'd probably give it a try to see if a different fruit crop presents differently.
I tried to place an order tonight that qualified for free shipping, once I added my 2 January bottles to the order the shipping cost changed to $59. I guess I'm going to have to reach out to the Bruery because that's not what I signed up for.
I've been testing pricing options for shipping and the cost of shipping for my cellar bottles is twice as expensive as if I was ordering new bottles. Example, the cost to ship 2 cellar bottles to Texas is over $50. If I order new beer the shipping for 2 bottles is ~$23. Is this normal, does cellar shipping cost that much?
I don't recall that being the case... Pretty sure they're still just tinkering with their settings. But you should email them.
Hopefully that's the case. I did email them last night so we'll see what they say. They've had great customer service for me so far. I was just curious what it was like in previous years.
For shipping from the cellar last year the most cost effective method was to ship 24 375 ml bottles or 12 750 ml bottles. (If you mix sizes the 750 essentially counts at 2 so could do 12 375 and 6 750) there appears to be a initial flat fee and then increases per bottle added. So to get best price per bottle you need to keep adding until they add another flat fee so just shipping two; cost per bottle is kind of ridiculous as you saw but when you are up at like 24 it’s pretty good; there was a huge price jump at 25 though p.s. if you want gory details I have a spreadsheet ha
That makes sense, because shipping rates work very similarly in bulk. What seems weird to me is the difference between shipping cellar bottles ($50 for 2) vs buying 2 bottles (~$22 for 2).I'll message you, I'm curious about the spreadsheet. I'll share what they say, as one of the reasons I joined was because they implied you could add your included cellar bottles to an order of $200+ and get get them shipped for free.
I got an update from the Bruery: "The benefit technically starts in March to ensure it's used for 2026 cellar items only." They did offer to assist me with a refund if I wanted to go ahead and add my bottles to my order. I don't mind waiting until March, it seems like it'll be easier that way. Great customer service as always.
Yeah, but I assume many people hold bottles until it's time to clear them out in February. I'm cool with waiting it out as I'm sure I'll be ready for another order come March or April.
I just spent $200 clearing out my cellar from 2025 given the lack of shipping to Michigan. Wish I’d known!
I first joined while living in California and then moved to Michigan in the spring of 2021. There was a brief period of about a year when they did ship to Michigan, somewhere around 2022 or 2023, but it didn't last long and from all I can tell this is a Michigan issue and not a Bruery issue. I'm not sure what prompted the change either way but I gather that Michigan is fairly protective. To be clear I'm not putting any blame on The Bruery for this and that wasn't what prompted my comment; it was just a bummer to have to pay a hefty amount for shipping when cellaring was really the only reasonable option for me over the last year to minimize the burden I was putting on my friend in Ohio in accepting my Bruery shipments. With that in mind, it made more sense to ship them all at once. I'd likely remain a member for 2026 if the shipping issue were sorted, but I've also got a pretty sizeable collection at the moment and I consume them a lot more slowly than they come in!
I emailed Bruery curious about ETA on Date Shake, and also if there's an archive sale this month. Here's the response: We're experiencing a delay with our bottle vendor that will unfortunately have an impact on when Shake and Date will be available. While I don't have a concrete date at the time of this email, we are hoping that the bottles will land on-site by the end of the month. I will have an archive sale up and running for all of you on 01/19 and some of the items I will be listing will be: All the Strawberry Cows Banana Daydream Barrel Pie One & Dunn: Bourbon Barrel-Aged (2025) JR Harris Midnight Bramble The Order (2024) Tart of Darkness: Black Wave Trade Winds (2024) Train to Beersel (2019) Third Course Black, White and Gray Set Gray Monday (2025) White Chocolate (2020) - 750-ml. Black Tuesday (2021) - 750-ml. The Cocktail Hour Set Briar Patch Smash Pourly Written Kentucky Cousin The Winter Warmer Set Luminos All the Leaves Siesta Saturday (2022) - 375-ml. The Big Blue Set Big Blue Stacks Blueberry Brueonico x 2 Blueberry Stacks Reserve x 2
Thanks for the details, and I completely understand. I was a hoarders member back in 17 and 18 but I had a friend in Anaheim and he would pick up and mail them to me. The new shipping options in 26 is what brought me back.
I am enjoying a Saule right now very much (2017 Ani). This has always been a standout vintage year for me, and it's drinking remarkably fresh at nearly nine years old. Tons of flavor, no oxidation or staleness. Still well carbonated. Love it.
I don’t recall how universally received Mother Floater was, but I was a fan. Opened my last bottle, thinking it would be falling off some. And while it has, it still works pretty well. Lots of vanilla blended well with the apple brandy stout base. The root beer and spices have pressed together in a pleasant slightly, bitter combination that works well on top— root beer still present. For me, this was one of those experiments that sounded questionable, but worked out well. Looking forward to a TR visit tomorrow to taste a few of this months offerings. Cheers!
Musket Love it. I was worried I was going to build it up too much, but this is exactly what I wanted. Very excited to see it taking on a big role this year. Rich and smooth, creamy, nice bourbon, reserved sweetness, definitely English not American but still a hint of bitterness underneath.
