    FYI, Letspour had it today for $33. Didn't seem that bad of a markup since the Bruery was selling it for $30 if my trading partner was telling me the truth on his cost.

    Nothing against Letspour, but if I order through them I have to buy 5 other beers I don't want, to even out the cost.

    Thought that I saw Mile High mention that they received some. Anyone pick one up from them?

    Saw it at MH today, but they didn't have prices out on it yet. In my experience, that usually means you don't want to know what the hell it costs.

    I got one...there was no price on it. I didn't really want to know, but I asked...$32.99 + tax.

    Two questions about this beer.
    1) What type of bourbon barrels was this aged in?
    2) How long was it aged for?

    Unless the answers are PVW and more than 7 years, this price is ridiculous. Not that I'd want a beer to be barrel aged for 7 years, but the fact that it costs more than a bottle of semi-decent bourbon and those guys have to buy virgin barrels (4x the cost) and age it for around seven years, should put it in perspective. Not to mention bourbon borders on 3x the alcohol. Hops and malts aren't THAT expensive.

    Regardless of a bourbon comparison, this is around (or more) than twice the cost of many of the other excellent BA barleywines out there.
    Sucaba = $17
    Blighs=$17
    KH = $15 (PVW barrels)
    Arctic Devil = $12
    Olde Bluehair = $13

    And to put something on the label about "thanks for the support from the community" and then throw this price tag on it is just annoying.

    They're just testing the top-end of the market to see if people will bite. I'll save my money and buy two bottles of Bligh's when it comes back out.

    <end grumpy old man rant>

    He was telling the truth. It was 30 when I bought it at the Provisions.

    Its not a BA Barleywine. Its a Solaris(Not sure right word there) method Old Ale Blend with all the vintages blending into this one and continuing down the Anniversary path.

    Also according to Patricks last blog posts, most beers average 14 months in barrels.
