Definitely! The one and only time I've seen one of those in a bottle shop in SWPA it was $40.

We've started seeing some of the anniversary beers up here in Alberta. Cuivre was priced at $54...

Like everything else in the world, if it's not worth it to you don't buy it. No one gives a shit what your defintion of value is.

I've enjoyed everything I've had from The Bruery, but not enough to justify buying bottles of it (I've only ever gotten their beer on tap.) Sour in the Rye, for example, is a good sour, but I can find better sours for less than $20 a bottle. I haven't had their barrel aged beers, but for $30, I'd rather buy two barrel aged beers from somewhere else.

while we don't see 60% of the bounty of beers you receive in Alberta, The Bruery we've gotten out east has been the $22-$27+ taxes for mischief, white oak and sour and the rye.

How can anybody complain about their prices?
If you drink barrel aged beers regularly, then beers for ~$1/oz are very common. Most Bruery beers fall below this.
When a beer exceeds $1/oz, I raise the bar and expect something world class.

Bruery beers are a tad pricey, but well worth it, esp those BA Stouts!:grinning:

I always want to buy Oude Tart, but I can't get past that price tag. I love that beer.

Sour in the Rye is.an exceptional beer. It is pricey but we'll worth it for such a quality product. That being said. I would buy more of them if they were cheaper.

When you pass on Rare this year because of the price come back to me a year from now and tell me you aren't kicking yourself for at least getting one bottle.

Over the years I've seen Bruery stuff in in Alberta and BC, stuff like Cuivre and Bois were $55. Everything else was in the $18-25 range no matter what store I went to. One thing that I've noticed, is a lot of the new imports int Alberta aren't as bad as they could be. You could get lucky and wander into some random store with it on sale because "no one was buying it and it's past its date".

    1. Rare won't show up where I live.
    2. I don't care about Rare, because it's $50. I'll settle for a 4 pk of BCBCS. And if I don't even get BCBCS I'll survive.

The Bruery is pushing the limits on pricing, I've seen their beers up to $30 in local bottle shops and I'm about one hour from The Bruery. I'd pay $25 max for some of their beers, but overall you're going to get a quality beer.
