I was curious how other people felt about this. I'm definitely sad to see Hottenroth and Rueze go. Also, the distribution of White Chocolate is a little bittersweet since they're toning down the abv just to allow more states to sell it. I'm sure a little lower percentage won't effect it too much I just don't want to see this beer change.

The loss of White Oak, Hottenroth, Humulus lager, and Reuze sucks. White Oak is a good bal-aged beer at a good price point, Humulus Lager is a tasty hop-centered beer, and both Hottenroth and Reuze are/were good sour beers. The new beers have big shoes to feel.

White Oak was good. But retiring those makes room for others. They are one of my favorite breweries. Almost everything they put out is good.

.Admittedly White Oak was the beer to introduced me to Wheatwines, and I still think its one of the best ones out there.

But The Bruery has always been an experimental brewery. They are going to continue moving forward. That means leaving some, even some great, beers behind to make room for new innovations.

According to Patrick Rue, Rueuze is taking a break for 2017 and will be back in 2018.

The Bruery just started distributing here, so not too upset. Not to say I won't try and pick up some of those beers here shortly just to not miss out.

I did pick up White Oak the other day just because it sounded interesting.

Just had a Hottenroth for the first time the other day, thought it was a real solid beer.

Rueuze is a legit heartbreaker. Hopefully the return in 2018 is true. That beer is absolutely outstanding.

Quadruple Tonnellerie was my favorite beer that I had when I visited a couple months back. It is not a balanced beer, by any means, but it was the most interesting. Also a fan of White Oak as far as what I've tried from them.

I still see a lot of ba beers below white oak's price point. Your comment may be the first time I have seen the words good price point associated with Bruery beers.

$12.75 for a 750 ml bal-aged beer is not a bad price. Firestone Walker gets $16.99 and up for Helldorado around me and the last 2 batches of White Oak compare favorably taste wise. There are cheaper bal-aged beers but White Oak is is priced reasonably. I hear you regarding many of their other beers:wink:

Not a fair comparison. White Oak wasn't even a fully barrel aged beer, only 50% BA beer blended in. FW beers are 100% barrel aged.

No surprise; none of those beers are aged in bourbon barrels. Seriously, 9/10 beers they release are BBA these days. They're hitting their market I guess, so hats off to 'em.

Rueze is really good, so I hope the year break rumors are true.

Edit: meant to say 100% BBA
