Nice, Bottleworks XII is a favorite of a lot of people around here, so it's nice to see it take a formal place in the lineup.

They listened to us! I so hope it's something similar to BeRazzled, although that one was half the abv.

    Interesting name choice.hmm

I think it is a clever name choice in that Bruery expects us to constantly drink it as a night cap. Ha! Get it!?!?!? Yeah!

Bottleworks XII description: "Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. Beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month."

Beret description: "Imperial sour wit ale brewed with spices and aged in oak barrels with raspberries."

Much briefer description, but same concept: Imperial witbier soured and aged in oak (specifically fermented in the description of BW XII), and aged with raspberries.

Edit: And if you look at the Bottleworks XII label, it was the exact same description.

So is the big difference here that Bottleworks was aged in wine and Beret is aged in regular oak and clocks in at 1%abv higher?

Probably no difference in the oak used, as the bottleworks label did not mention the barrel type either. The oak used is not always mentioned on beer labels, but it is almost always wine or whiskey, as new oak is very expensive comparatively. The abv difference could be due to them taking measurements after taking the beer from the barrels (after the raspberries gave a bit of sugar to restart fermention), whereas Bottleworks XII did not, just a guess.

Sorry, too young, not a prince fan, couldn't pick his songs if they were played over a sound system. =P

Even this young whippersnapper knew it was from that song lol. Definitely glad to see Bottleworks be rebranded and available. I better see a Beauregarde label soon, just sayin...

I know some people didn't really like Ichigo Highway but I loved it. Still have a bottle and would like to drink it but don't want it to be gone. Would love to see that beer come back.

I'm with you on this one! Last bottle left, don't want it to be gone. I would spend a whole day at the Bruery the day it comes back on tap.

Am I missing something with the Berazzled references? It sounds like it's just a re-labeled Bottleworks XII...? Happy to see it, but I don't think it's going to be any sort of BWXII meets Berazzled considering the description is the same as BWXII.
