There's an Anniversary Celebration for Society members on May 10th. No other "initiation celebration". It was repeated from the membership materials in an e-mail today.

Sounds like the same thing under a new name to me.

Yea...was always in the past early Feb and found out the tentative weekend for it...but they are combining it to one membership party now in May

It seems as though you bought "non-refundable" tickets. I think if you end up canceling your flight, you still retain the dollar value of the credit to be used later to come during May. Obviously this is only if you don't feel like taking a break from the polar vortex in February, too.

From their Save The Date email:
"May 10th - Save the date! As mentioned in your welcome materials, rather than having an "initiation celebration" we're throwing an exclusive Anniversary festival for our Society members. This will be a large, off-site event featuring many of our archive beers, special casks as well as beer from other breweries and food from some of our favorite local restaurants. Details to follow."

In the past, at the "initiation celebration," now "Anniversary festival," can a member bring a wife / friend / guest, or is it just for members only?

Last year, RS could buy 2 tickets. HS could buy 4 tickets.

I hope the new date brings with it better weather. It will be awfully crowded in the main tent if it rains. Hopefully it is like the way the barrel party was setup last year was excellent, no long lines and not super crowded.

2 years ago, it rained, on St. Patrick's Day. The Bruery Team scrambled the night before setting up inside the tent. They did a wonderful job considering the situation. It was a little crowded in the tent, but didn't come close to ruining the day. On the plus side, there was green hop juice at one station you could add to your Knuckle Sandwich, Humulus Lager, etc.

By pushing the date to May, they can count on better weather and up the attendance.

If Hoarders aren't maxing their allocations on stuff -- and presumably they've already offered it to their local buddies, friends, family -- personally I hope they let it go back into the pool.

My reading of one of the Bruery's emails (of course I can't find it now) was that the designated exclusive beers really would be that, with excess inventory being put up for another round of sales to HS, then RS (in the case of RS exclusives) members. I'd gladly buy more Mocha Wednesday (etc), and I'm sure other Hoarders would too.

Hopefully they open it up to hoarders first

I think that's the plan. Mine was sort of a commentary on all the people offering to buy people's extra bottles. It's one thing to sell your extras to friends, but beyond that I'd like to see these extras go to other people who are actually Hoarders members (i.e., not just sold to whoever asks). But, ultimately it's the member's beer to with what they please.

I was there for that one. While it was still lots of fun. It is much nicer when they can use the bigger area

In the same boat. Thinking I'll have to trade for them.
