I always think Le Terroir tastes like a gin and tonic, so that's what I voted here.

They shouldve just done a Whiskey Sour and added a bunch of egg whites to make it "interesting"

I went with the Old Fashioned as well. Staying away from Sambuca and Pina Colada for the reasons noted above, and can't stand Gin.

Did nobody here have Gentleman's Club by Widmer/Cigar City?

Have you ever had one with a nice house made tonic? It's quite a bit more than you've described. This place in Oakland called Boot & Shoe Service has a great house tonic that makes a wonderful cocktail. But like you the Old Fashioned is my favorite cocktail as well.
A Whiskey Sour could actually be really good. Take a bourbon barrel aged beer and blend it with a sour lemon beer and serve it on nitro to get the creamy effect the egg whites usually add.

I think the layer of dust on each bottle that sits at most of the bottle shops I stop by will be the answer to that one.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Only have had it twice, and while it is exceptional it isn't all that similar to the cocktail of a Manhattan.

Another mentioned the Negroni which could be amazing too if they deduce a way to execute it in beer form.

Dunno how i forgot but they already made Mai-Tai Sour in the Rye one week on cask recently. It was pretty epic just needed a little more sweet (BA) and maybe some almond character (Oregat) I posted/asked Matt to have the Bru-crew make another batch and age it in rum barrels which got a 'like' so they are telling me there is a chance!

I think The Last Word could make for a fantastic beer. Some of its variants might work too (The Last Ward, Ultima Palabra).

Old fashioned all the way. I agree that the bitters is what makes that drink...especially with all of the variety out there. Pina colada we just got...I can't stand gin...was tempted on the pimms since I had it in london...but old fashioned won me out. It is a classic and I think they will knock it out of the park!

I also voted for the Old Fashioned. I hope they do the "modernized" version, like Haven Gastropub, serves with a small addition of cherries.

Realistically though, would any of these be successful? They wouldn't be able to touch the real thing with any of the options. It's an honest question. People slammed them for Or Xata, which I'm unabashedly loved, and that was about as spot on as a mimicked beer gets.

Agreed it's unlikely it'll be a great mimic, but I still voted for the Old Fashioned. The bitter aspect of that makes me hopeful.

I don't see how Or Xata has held up. I enjoyed it fresh, but even drinking it a couple weeks after it got tapped at the tasting room, you could tell it lost a lot of what made it interesting and good.

Just cracked my Or Xata last night at a bottleshare and it was generally a big hit especially with the ladies. The smell was spot on. It was a tad sweet for me, so the taster portion was plenty. Seemed like the flavors were holding up well but not a lot of cinnamon.

Cracked a bottle over the weekend. Lots of vanilla and cream flavor, not a ton of cinnamon. May not taste like die hard horchata, but still damn good, will be even better in the summer when it'll be refreshing.

Kind of hard to justify spending $20 + on a Widmer beer.

Way too sweet to be refreshing for me.

Had it on draft, no chance would I pay for a $20+ Widmer bottle.
