The Bruery's 2014 RS/HS Allocation Thread

Bois Fume and smooth criminal just came available for PS.

 

Awesome event on Saturday.

TLDR:
Melange 9 -- IMO it deserved to win. Just an all round great beer and something I want to drink more of.
Cask #2 -- PB&J+Marshmallow BT. Quite good but pushed the BT sweetness a bit over the edge.
Cask #3 -- Basically a beef jerkey sour (smelling it was like sticking your nose into a bag of beef jerkey). Better than it sounds but not something I'd want to own bottles of.
Wineification -- OMG, yes. Love the nose on this guy, great wine and barrel combo. Glad I got another shot to try this.
Filmishmish -- Soooo good this year that it kinda stole the show. It's Cascade Apricot levels of fruit but with a more solid, sour backing. Max this guy.
French Oak Bois -- Last time I had this it was against the other varieties and I thought it was 2nd to the Rye barrel Bois. I enjoyed it more without expectations set from the Rye.

 

Yeah, I blew it. I hope I have the opportunity to try Wineification some day.

I asked when I picked up my last orders if they thought there might be more Filmishmish after allocations are over. I guess a lot of this year's RS members haven't been maxing out as much as last year so there's hope we'll see more. I'll buy whatever is available, it was a big hit on a warm and sunny beer walk/picnic yesterday (which is why I didn't make it to the Bruery event).

So what were the ingredients of #3???

 

From the menu it was a blend of: 57% sour blonde, 29% oude tart, 7% white oak sap, and 7% tart of darkness with habanero and peppercorns.

 

Apparently the event was so good that I thought it occurred on a Saturday. Oops!

 

If anyone isn't planning on maxing out Filmishmish and wants to works something out BM me. I'm a member already and would be happy to swap allocations. I lean more towards the sour side than the dark side.

 

Not that it's a huge deal - but anyone else think it's strange that sales tax is being charged on the Sucreversary tickets? I've never paid tax on tickets to an event before... $10 down the drain (2 tix).

 

GM on tap last night at the TR. Any word of anything left?

 

I was there around 8 last night and it was out. It was only the leftovers of what they tapped for St Patrick's day.

 

Was there at 6PM, happy they still had it on. Sooo good.

 

Tax was charged on the one and only event I've been to so far, last year's BT release party. I believe that's the way it should be since you're being served a taxable item at the event.

 

I wonder whose gonna be catering this event.
