This is the first I've heard about The Bruery being poor communicators. I've always thought they've done an excellent job. They typically just stop short at revealing things that are better left as surprises and they don't like to speculate when they don't have a concrete answer. There is always room for improvement, but it's tough to knock them on communication when nearly every other brewer is notoriously bad.

BTW... you probably shouldn't sign up for J. Wakefield's OG's club, if you want improved communication. One email in six months. (I'm not even trying to knock him for that as I believe patience will be rewarded with quality, but there are dozens of examples who don't communicate as well as The Bruery.)

Past practices of the bruery have been the month's release is available at the outset of the month. I'm not reacting to my own assumption. I don't think it's unreasonable to believe a deviation from this would leave one to believe the beer is not being released this month.
But I guess over communicating with someone who gives you $ is considered unreasonable.

What's a beer need? Like beers you GOTTA drink?

I guess you didn't read this big bold sentence when you signed up

The Following are our expected beers for 2014 and their expected on-sale dates.*
    *subject to change

    or this one

Barrel aged beers tell us when they are ready, so keep in mind any stated release dates are estimates only.

    or this one

In the event that an allocated beer does not meet our quality standards, we may delay shipping by a couple of weeks, or choose not release a beer at all.

i read & know their policies. i have no problem with delays or beers needing more time. but if you are going to put out any semblance of a schedule, i think it is a good policy to be up front and explain deviations from the schedule. thats just my opinion. I'm not saying I am right, I just think it'd be a nice courtesy.
if they don't want to communicate, it would probably make more sense just to have the blanket policy of 'the beers will be ready when they're ready.'

Anyone mentioned that sucre is 16.9% while bois was only 15%.

"Barrel aged beers tell us when they are ready." Are your sure that you read their policies? It would certainly seem that what you're saying and what they're saying is identical.

I think it's great that they provide a general schedule.

Is it really "an issue" that a handful of guys are whining on a message board because they don't yet know something that they'll know soon enough?

I just hope one of their mystery beers is named "Miscommunication & Tears". Which, coincidentally, is also the name of my favorite R&B duo from the 90s.

So you'd prefer less communication to what they currently do? All or nothing?

They should make a gueuze called VeRUEca Salt and constantly delay it just to hear people complain that I want it now.

I was talking to some people at the Bruery and they said that the release of RDF is going to be pushed back because it still tastes very young in the bottle. I don't know what exactly this means but I'm assuming either way too sweet or way too hot. Hopefully time will fix yet another problem at the Bruery.

I fail to see how delaying a beer that they don't think is good is a problem.
