The Bruery's 2014 RS/HS Allocation Thread

I am in OC and haven't seen anything yet (might need to check the mail). I think the glasses are mentioned in the HS items list but extra beer was mighty nice of him. Can you post a pic of the glasses? I have noticed the last few times they have a different style glass in the tasting room now compared to their old tulip. I was about to email them and ask if I can order some of them, I think they are a little nicer quality.

Hoarder's Ultra-VIP? Legally they shouldn't be shipping beer to AZ, no?

I picked up my initial package plus two orders tonight, what an experience. My first time there later on a Saturday evening, multiple birthday parties and 3 glasses dropped on the floor in my vicinity as I waited to get my stuff. I guess OC soccer moms can't hold their beer (no pun intended).

And, fuck, I'm too honest, so I hope my beer karma is really good at this point. I'm not sure of the woman's name who was working the desk tonight, but when I got there she's all "let's close out your 2013 stuff" and she starts gathering two HUGE orders from last November that I had picked up long ago, including 6 bottles of Wanderer and 6 bottles of Melange #3 amongst many other things. I didn't have the heart to not say anything, so I refused them.

Had a glass of Rueuze for the drive home since there wasn't anything all that special up that I could see, not that I can see very well.

Decompressing with some Mocha Wednesday right now.

 

I got an email from Matt saying it was a surprise prize for the top three teams at the blending session. Too cool! I didn't know our team placed.

 

Last night a bit of a cluster with so many parties there. Lines were moving quick though. They had mocha Wednesday on draft, but you had to ask for it. Cheers!

 

I have experienced the same the last few weekend evening trips I have made. It is a shame because it really ruins the 'home-base' feel being a member. I got cut in front of while waiting in line of about 30-40 people recently by a group of children (It seemed only one was in line and 21 probably ordering for others) and swear to god I heard 'I just want to get fucked up for cheap, what is the strongest?'. I shook my head in shame, purchased 1 drink, closed out and left. Saturday mornings are still nice but it fills up pretty quickly.

I think they have dramatically outgrown their tasting room which is a good thing because that means they are wildly popular. I am just holding out hope they purchase another piece of that lot and build a RS/HS only tasting lounge.

 

Maybe start with a RS/HS line.

That line gets crazy on the weekends.

 

I can't begrudge them the business, that's awesome. But it's such a major pain in the ass to get beer out of there during major drinking hours. Due to my current schedule last night was my only opportunity to pick up for awhile, I used to go weekday mornings to pick my stuff up which was always a piece of cake.

 

I don't mind waiting for beer, but I hate waiting to just close out.

 

So are the initiation party and the membership party the same??

 

You had to ask for the MW? That's pretty shitty. I tweeted them and asked if it was still on, but never got a reply. Went yesterday, didn't see MW or ToD w/Vanilla on the taplist, and spent more money with the food truck outside than I did on beer inside.

Btw, I picked up my beer and a buddy that is in Hoarders and saw on the pick up sheet for HS that there are 442 members total.

 

The MW was never on the tap list, you always had to ask. They sent an email out to Hoarders instructing them to ask at the counter.

 

Damn, I never got that email.

 

Just joined Preservation Society today! Excited!

 

Me and my buddy talked about this the other day and he guessed 500. Pretty close.
