...is not, for those who may be unfamiliar with the name, East Staffordshire's version of The Daily Sport.

Are there any extant beers with that unmistakable sulphurous aroma?
Of late I have found it lacking in Bass and Worthies White Shield, but it's probably been missing from them for years now, as was that peppery spiciness I remember in the WWS.
Pedigree had become a mutt last time I gave it any notice and I haven't seen it locally in ages.
Are Burton Bridge beers likely to yield the missing snatch?

I'd love a good snatch too, I'll be keeping an eye on this

Last time I had Pedigree - keg in Gibraltar earlier this year - it was definitely there. What was it I had in Birmingham last weekend that had it? Can't remember, unfortunately.

Virtually every guy I've ever met likes a good snatch.

Took an hour for the bus home to show up after lunch in spoons
dived in Royal Oak for loo so bought half of Marston's Burton bitter~
downed it in one on way out
and got a bit of that Burton Snatch

Last time I had either Bass or Pedigree they were both very bland. I think that character has been mostly bred out of them these days, which is a shame, because they were just a few steps away from being nice beers. A bit of sulphur would have made them more interesting.

However, I had a Burton Bridge beer last month and, while I loved it, the less experienced drinkers I was with all hated it and couldn’t drink it. Perhaps Marston's and InBev do know what they are doing.

I like to think of Bevis as a louche Marc 'Lard' Riley of Mark Radcliffe and Lard fame.

I used to find the snatch in ordinary Marston's Bitter but my last pint of that didn't show it. I've sometimes found it in such brews as Spitfire (in what part of Burton is Shepherd Neame situated?)
