Coincidentally, I think Pinus is a DONG DIPA... Sounds like a great ice breaker at a bar, regardless...

That makes way more sense. You learn a new acronym ED on BA. TY. :-)

Agree but blind pig is barely available in Cali let alone the rest of the country.

Not a bad list -- Harpoon IPA was my original love -- but my god it's so devoid of hop character in 2014 -- list loses some credibility for that homer choice.

Barley Brown's IPAs mostly fall into that category. Every now and then you'll find a random spot that will fill a growler of Pallet Jack, but most places abide by their "Please don't fill growlers" request.

I love Union Jack and would gladly take it over anything else on that list. Sculpin is good but I don't love it like most others seem to, especially at $15/6 pack. I also don't care that much for Racer 5 and Torpedo. I'd gladly take Centennial IPA and Hop Devil over the rest of what's on his list. Goose Island IPA isn't very good at all IMO.

What widely distributed beer from OR that makes it to MASS makes a difference in this list?????

The fact that no Oregon beer made that list pretty much says it all even though there are more than a couple Oregon Breweries available in the itty bitty city state of MASS where evidently traveling fifty miles in any direction to cross the horrid state border is out of the question. You are from California, Your Counties are bigger and more populated than MASS. Hell, San Diego should have more senators than Massachusetts. The list is what it is , a colloquial musing on a lazy subject.

At the end of the day, who really cares, but are you in politics? You completely side-stepped my question. So I'll give you another shot at this. Based on the writer's guidelines, which were clearly outlined, what beer from the PNW would have successfully represented well?

somewhat accurate in my opinion but its hard to include so many. My preference Pliny, Lagunitas, Walker Union Jack, Stone and Sierra Nevada but maybe in biased to my State

    Rogue Brutal bitter
But as far as I or anyone else knows he picked up all his beers at the local liquor store. My statement stands, a small view from a small state with limited selection. Hardly noteworthy

Since these lists are mostly based on distribution to MA and significant national distribution, I'm surprised it did not include Anchor, Red Hook, Widmer, Flying Dog, Shipyard, and Magic Hat. I thought New Belgium was a funny one to leave out too, but I checked and it looks like NB distributes almost everywhere EXCEPT New England states.
