The ever evading beer

    I live in San Diego and although it is extremely rare, we do get heady topper in certain bottle shops and I can never get my hands on one, which feels like chasing the end of a rainbow.

    What are some beers that you have been seeking to try and get a hold of but just can't seem to get your hands on?

    Pliny the Younger. Could have had it this year, it turns out, but I wasn't up to going out that night. Next year for sure.

    They don't legally distro to San Diego, but some guy on Mission Gorge always has a bunch that he sells for like $15 a can

    Canadian Breakfast Stout. Generally miss it in NYC by a week or two every visit. It was on tap in Flagstaff last year and I was contemplating the six hour drive but it coincided with a friend's birthday.

    Having had many maple bourbon barrel beers in the past year or so (BA Agamemnon takes the cake), I'm not sure there's any chance it will live up to expectations but I'll never know until I get a hold of it.

    After having to pay a mule and getting it shipped from Vermont it hard to see that guy making any $$ at $15.00 a can.

    Ayinger Brau Weisse comes to mind. I quite love the Ur Weisse and Celebrator is just perfect, but this might be the last of the great weissbiers i have yet to taste. Same applies for Andechser Doppelbock.

    I've still never had Pliny the Elder. I've had beers in the same league like Heady Topper plenty of times, and a number of other Russian River beers, but have somehow never actually tried it. I guess I've just never gone out of my way to get some like I have beers from Hill Farmstead, Tree House, Trillium, etc.

    In Australia it's 240 of the Top 250 of BA... don't ever complain that you can't find a beer if you live in the States! :stuck_out_tongue:

    Any beer you have to trade for. Since I will never have any thing trade worthy....I will have to trade to get somthing that someone feels worth it. Catch 22...What a fucked situation..
