I attempted to submit this to Mark McDermott {The Beeronaut}, but the host website doesn't like my e-mail address. (Because it is a spamblocking one which it can't resell.)
The abominable weather Chicago has gone through in the past fortnight has severly curtailed my nightly visits to bars. I have a winter codicil that if there is a beer in my refrigerator with a higher ABV than a day's predicted high temperature (°F), I am not going out.
The beer in my refrigerator is Revolution Brwg.'s Deth's Tar: 14.8% ABV.
Gazing at the forecast, it seems that this Sunday may be the most seasonable day until Washington's Birthday. But, it also happens to be the day of the N.F.L. championship game (This is a non-copyrighted | non-registered term for it.).
I do not want to visit a bar which will be showing the N.F.L. championship game. Contemplating, some bars I think might be in this category are Hopleaf, The Long Room, and Sleeping Village. The Empty Bottle and Crown Liquors were also considered, but I know they have a television set, and they might have it on then.
Do Beer Advocate members have cohesive ideas for which other Chicago craft beer serving venues will not show the N.F.L. championship game?

The Bears won 8 NFL Championship Games but only 1 superbowl so I can see why you prefer the term.

Superbowl starts at 5:30 PM, if you don't want to see it but want to go to a taproom thats showing it, go at noon and then go home at 4. They may have pregame on with no sound.

From a million hours of watching games on sunday’s, I think you’re required to say National Football League, and be obnoxiously serious about it.

I don’t think an analyst has ever used the abbreviation on air.

To close this thread on a good note, I wound up at The Long Room tavern at Irving Park and Ashland.
It turned into a superb selection, as Sundays there are Shot & A Can Sunday. A solid number of 12-oz. craft beer in cans are $4. If I wanted to sleaze out, I could have opted for a 16-oz. can of Old Style for only $2. Woo hoo.:money_mouth:
