    As a Flyers fan through affiliation, this season hurts me as well. It will be very interesting to see what the Flyers do this offseason. Hopefully it involves getting rid of some underachievers (Briere.) I guess I'll be pulling for the Bruins to win since I'm a New Englander and my favorite player of all time, Jaromir Jagr is playing for the cup this year.

    A) 45
    B) 6
    C) Florida, who will ultimately select MacKinnon and make the egregious error of not selecting Seth Jones who will probably go to Colorado at 2.

    P.S. I've never done an LIF or even traded, but I'd like to do so soon. Broke college kid that can only buy what I can immediately consume...

    For his habit of coming out of suspended animation for the playoffs, I've always called Danny Briere "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer". But that's a lot of money to pay someone for 28 games you MIGHT play. Cue speculation on who gets amnestied.

    My unsolicited advice is as follows. Read this blog post: http://alewatcher.blogspot.com/2010/11/new-trader-tips.html. Start small. Locals for locals is a good way to get your feet wet. You're gonna have to ship first for a little while, so don't be offended. Stick with experienced traders for your first few. ALWAYS check references. Don't try to win trades. Be generous, and other people will be generous with you. It's easy to get in over your head, so don't go nuts right off the bat.

    Thank you for the link and the advice. It's really appreciated and I will definitely reference it when I start trading.

    As for the Flyers, I couldn't agree more with Briere. Had an awful regular season last year and killed it in the playoffs. Chances are they'll amnesty him and Bryz. However, if I was Paul Holmgren I'd amnesty Bryz and Pronger and trade Briere to a potential contender like Boston or someone in the west, Vancouver/STL maybe.

    Without derailing the thread too bad, Pronger's on long-term IR, so he's not eligible for amnesty. He's never playing again, though. Poor bastard.

    Anyhoo, keep those predictions coming, hockey fans and/or beer lovers. No Canadian entries yet.
