I am going there soon and wanted to know what your thoughts are about this place. Have heard some good and some bad. Wanted to get some opinions before I go.

Love that place for it's BBQ and tasty beers - especially the German styles. Makes one of the best NE berliner weisses I've ever had. I'd go more often but only use the highway route to Portland in winter/bad weather. Time for another visit!

Haven't been to the pub itself, but have had their Ragged Mountain Red apres-ski many times - very tasty, better than your run-of-the-mill red ales. If that's an indication of the rest of their beers, it's worth a trip.

I think its a great little brewpub in an area where this isnt too much else. I frequent there and they have some very solid offerings. I would put them ahead of Seven Barrel Brewery in West Lebanon as they have a greater selection on tap. Although some of their selections may not be great, possibly because of the quantity of taps, they do have some solid offerings. Their IPAs are solid, check out Lupulin Suplex for a IIPA if it's on when you go. Also they have a saison that has just been on for a few weeks and is pretty solid. They recently got 32oz growlers to go with the 64oz ones they offer so you dont have to get quite as much beer if there is something that you're not sure about.

As for the atmosphere, I like it. It's pretty eclectic in the bar area and I'd say the food is above average. You can usually find something locally grown/raised on the menu which makes it even better.

Another option for solid tap offerings in the area is Peter Christian's Tavern right in downtown New London. They have some good craft offerings and some pretty good food. If you do go to PC's try the wings, ¨Always baked, never fried¨.

Lastly, there is Graze right next to Dunkin Donuts in town too. They are basically a farm-to-table type place. They only have 3 draft offerings but they are usually solid. There bottle menu is where its at though! It may be a little on the pricier side but its a summer resident/college town so its to be expected.

Enjoy your time in the Lake Sunapee/Upper Valley area!

    Cheers!
