any idea if we will be getting hte bramble rye? that and the barleywine were what i was after. got he bw, which i thought was delicious, but a large notch lower than the top bw. glad i got 7 more bottels to go thru. I only got the coffee since it was being offered. the included coffee was very nice bonus.

 

Where did you get the variants? As for Backyard Rye, i've been told it will be distributed here, but in very limited quantities.

City beer store, which I gotto say did a fantastic job with the release. there last few releases have gone real smooth actually. I got there 10 min to 9 and was able to get a max allocation. looking at my reciept loosk like it was about $20 a 4-pack, killer since i used to buy bcbs 4-packs at 20.99 at my local whole foods back in 2010

Theyve gotten a lot of static for having high prices, but over the past 2 years have responded with competative prices most of their product, (still the cheapest place to get midnight sun beers in the area)

 

I'm just curious as to how the barleywine tastes compared to King Henry.

 

It's better than the KH I had a month ago, but probably inferior to fresh KH. Still awesome though.

 

Bevmo in Encino had two cases sitting on the floor by a table with GI sours on it when I went by there earlier. Didn't have any bcbs on display, the 4 packs were just sitting in their boxes.

My area only got the BCBS... so I'm going to be looking for the Coffee version and just wanted to know if I should be trading for it or waiting for further possible shipments.

 

yup. Some care about serving/satisfying as many customers as possible, while others are bottom line. It makes more sense to move product off your floor as quickly as possible for many of the bigger businesses. I actually went to the second closest bevmo since I knew they wouldn't have limits. The closest one to me wasn't sure when I called, but based on past experience, there likely would have been.

 

MUCH better than KH now, and very close to fresh KH.

Was the BCBW widely available in the SF Bay Area? I was out of the country until yesterday and haven't had a chance to look around for them yet.

 

It was in San Jose area on Black Friday. Most, if not all, Bevmo were selling the regular BCBS.

 

BCBS is pretty much gone in South Bay, correct? Think I missed the boat on this one.

 

I know it was available at city beer and I read on this forum it was also at some bevmos in the bay area. The three that I stopped in said they had no coffee or barleywine.

 

I found some regular BCBS today at BevMo, but I was also wondering if anyone has seen the variants anywhere else in the Bay Area aside from City Beer Store? Would love to get my hands on some coffee and barleywine. (I asked about the variants and BevMo said they'd only received regular.)
