The Great Kate Chase

I was leaving this to be my LIF in case I won the Ridglens/HeyesEZ LIF but since there hasn't been declared winner I figured I'd go ahead and do it now so I can ship the same week I pick up my bottles. There haven't been enough LIF's started recently. There's still just 3 pages in this forum.

It can't run for a month of Sundays, so this ends in a fortnight. The 31st of March will draw the curtain on this most grand of philanthropic endeavors. This isn't one for the pot hunters. Just Ladies or Gents who's spirit has moved them to give until it pains. To prevent a Bag 'o Fives from finding your bellows we'd recommend that you set your sights high, or else find yourself seeing stars, staring up after catching a floorer.

Don't let your tail get down if you're you're sipping cold coffee on the 1st of April. Know that a great deal of camaraderie was borne of your efforts. So lift a pint, and take a run at The Great Kate Chase.

TO ENTER:
1. You must not have Portsmouth Brewery Imperial Russian Stout (aka Kate the Great) currently in your cellar, and;
2. You must not have been at Kate Day to have it on draft, and;
3. Must reside or have a mailing address within the continental 48 US States.

In the spirit of the "Generosity" LIF, this requires more than just 'guessing my birthday'. But, if you're the winner, you're expected NOT expected to start another LIF. The 'why' will become obvious shortly. If you've met the requirements and wish to enter:

1 - Post a review for a PLACE prior to Sunday 18th of March 11:59pm EST. Post the link to the place review in this thread. Anyone who meets the 3 above criteria and does this will be eligible to move forward.

2 - MUST NOT POST ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS THREAD (no "I'm in" etc...) Only post the link to your place and information relevant to that if you like.

THE GAME:

The game is simple - you must simply start a LIF of your own, and complete the shipping of your box prior to the end of this competition. You must declare in the post for your LIF that the LIF is your entry for this LIF and link to this LIF in your post. Ahem - "LIF".

You will LIF a box a beer to the winner (as chosen by you) of your LIF. The winner will post the contents of the box they have received from you in this thread. Boxes must be received and posted by the end of this LIF - which is 11:59pm EST March 31st.

5 BA's will rate every box sent/received from 1-x with points in descending order from x-1 (ie 12 people play 1st place on a ballot received 12 points, 12th place receives 1st). The box which receives the most points will "Win" this LIF and be the recipient of a 2012 Kate the Great and assorted other goodies/swag/whathaveyou. Ballots will NOT made 100% public - but the results will be sent to EACH of the participants of this LIF. This is not about criticism, but I want transparency.

This is not about rarity, it is not about volume, it is not about $ spent. It is simply about advocacy. The box that best displays that (perhaps through hitting a number of wants, perhaps by starting a LIF the goes international and sends American fare overseas, etc...) simply shipping off a Wooden Hell to the first person to name your Cat might win it. But I'd like to think that we're all a bit more altruistic than that. If only one person plays - they still win.
