Rempo Rempo Rempo...sorry, I'm biased as I have nothing but praise to sing for Rempo. Solid BA, deserves a kate (or 5).

If I have this correctly all 4 LIF's have selected winners. Can't wait to see the boxes! Thanks to all the participants across all four threads. Really impressed with everyone's creativity in creating the LIF's. Congrats to the four winners. Please remember to post your hauls here to keep your generous "LIFer" in The Chase.

ruizjoseph's Not Enough Time on BA selected Brees6221.

Rempo's Damn Trading Forum LIF selected YaKnowBrady.

Hophead717's Craft Beer Desert Survival Kit LIF: Seasonal Addition selected EA728.

Ungertaker's Black Tuesday LIF selected JohnPPutz.

I received my box from ruizjoseph yesterday and what a box it was! I've been fortunate enough to receive a few very nice LIF boxes in my time, but this one takes the cake! This seemed like something I would have received in a BIF. What I really like about this box is that it isn't just a bunch of great beers he threw together, but each one represents him in some way, while managing to hit several wants and some of my favorite styles. The haul:

    New Glarus thumbprint Barleywine
    Leinenkugels Big Eddy
Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout 2011 - WANT
Goose Island Bourbon County Stout 2011 - WANT
    Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf
    Boulevard Harvest Dancer
    4x Half Acre Daisy Cutter
    Three Floyds Brian Boru
    Three Floyds Behemoth 2012
    New Glarus Road Slush
    Founders KBS 2012
Founders Imperial Stout – WANT (Added probably 3 hours before box arrived, haha)
    Founders Breakfast Stout
Three Floyds Zombie Dust* - WANT

    Guinness tasting glass
    Pliny the Elder hoodie !!!

*Broke in-transit. Seriously, this thing must have been tossed by someone. The bottom corner of the box was dented and ever so slightly damp, but otherwise I had no indication of breakage. Thanks to the amazing packing job (bubble wrap, zip lock bag and fedex padded envelope), all of the glass shards and 99% of the liquid was contained. This is a prime example of why you should pack a box well – even in the unlikely event that a bottle breaks, you can still avoid delivery exceptions or collateral damage inside the box.

Fantastic job all around Joe, thank you so much!

Just received an amazing box from Ungertaker, a 12 bottle shipper containing 12 wants. I am very computer illiterate and cannot figure out how to upload a photo from my iPhone, even after I imported it to my desk top. But back to this awesome display of generosity. This is the best box I may have ever received and I cant thank you enough. Here is the haul,

    750 mL
    The Bruery Black Tuesday
    Lift Bridge Commander
    New Glarus Raspberry Tart

    22oz
    Deschutes Black Butte XXIII
    Deschutes 2011 Abyss

    500mL
    FRESH Russian River PtE

    12oz
    Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Stout
    Central Waters Peruvian Morning
    Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine
    Founders KBS
    Founders Backwoods Bastard
    Oskar Blues Ten Fidy

Thank you so much man, this box is awesome and you went above and beyond. Thank you again and I really hope you get the KtG, because you deserve it. Cheers!!

(and if someone has a tip on how to upload a photo of my haul, feel free to let me know lol)

the photo has to be uploaded to a web page. You can load it on flicker or imgur (I use this one). Then just copy and paste the link for the picture into the pop-up box for "insert/edit image". Not sure how this is done on an iPhone as I do not have one.

    -1 Firestone §ucaba
    -1 DFH 75 Minute
    -1 Founders KBS
    -1 Nugget Nectar
    -1 Hopslam

This box made my month; very generous LIF by Hophead 717. I don't get any of these distributed to Texas, except DFH, but the 75 Minute will most likely not be making it to my town. All of these are my wants and I'm especially excited to try the KBS. Thanks so much to Hophead717, this was more than I was expecting and I greatly appreciate this LIF. I hope he wins the Kate, and his idea for the LIF was very creative.

So, I was lucky enough to win Rempo’s “Damn Trading Forum LIF” (http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/damn-trading-forum-lif.6751/) in his bid to win “The Great Kate Chase.” I’m glad that this was the last box to be received, because there’s no possible way that he cannot win. Every single bottle was a want, and I gasped as I pulled each one out of the box. I couldn’t even begin to grasp reality after unpacking. My head was spinning, I felt sick, I pooped a little, and then I got my shit together, took a few deep breaths, and here we go:

New Glarus Cran-bic Ale – Want
Bells Third Coast Old Ale – Want
    Bells Expedition Stout – Perma-want
    Founders KBS – Perma-want
De Struise Sint Amatus 12 – Always want
De Struise Pannepot Reserva 2008 – Perma-want. This exact vintage was what got me into Struise, never looked back
    Westvleteren 12 – ALWAYS WANT… Awesome.
Russian River Sanctification – Want, have not had!
    Russian River Supplication – Perma-want

And here’s where the real brainsplosion happens…
5 Year Vertical of Bourbon County Stout
    Bourbon County Rare.

Yep, Rare. It has been my #1 want since joining BA, and never even got a whiff of it.

Extras are 4 Bruery Provisions Series Coasters, a Parti-Pak Liquors Zip-up Koozy, 2 BCBS 4-pack containers, and 2 pins, 1 Bells, one Best Brown Ale.

Mark, I don’t know what to say. Can I name my soon-to-be-born son Rempo? Can I fly you out here to give me a hug? Can I put a hit out on the other contestants, so you win automatically? Cooper, I beseech you to send Mark the Kate. This is amazing, and am so goddamn lucky to have won this box. I am still recovering, and don’t know if I ever will. This was the single best box of beer I’ve ever opened, and to my past trading partners, don’t act like it isn’t. I love you guys, but you were just blown out of the water.

    KATE FOR REMPO!

    $&@":!?$&?!?!?!?

I am floored! The other boxes in this LIF were pretty epic, as far as LIFs go. This box is sooooo killer it makes the other three of us look silly! (no offense guys, I am in this group, too)

Cheers to CooperEllis for spurring this and the other guys involved for showIng others what true Beer Advocacy is about! I hope the LIFs that are started in the future (both started from this and not) take this as an example. Thanks for letting me take part in this awesome display!

Now, now people, let's not rush to judgment. Within the context of CooperEllis's description I think all four guys killed it and it's going to be a very close competition.

But that Rare sure is purty!

Knowing now how over-the-top excited Brady gets, I should have named him the winner of my LIF right after he posted.

Had a lot of fun with this LIF. Brilliant idea of 'LIF-spawning' and love seeing all the wants being hit and good beer being shared. Not a single beer in these boxes I wouldn't drink. And that Pliny the Elder hoodie makes me drool. What size is that, by the way...

So it appears that all of the boxes are in everyone has posted their hauls. The official end to this thread is 11:59pm EST this evening. The voting will not be concluded until after the deadline has passed. You can see the contents of the boxes throughout this thread but for those who missed the excellent LIF's that the four contestants hosted these were the players, their LIF's and the winners:

BOX #1: ruizjoseph's Not Enough Time on BA selected Brees6221.

BOX #2 Rempo's Damn Trading Forum LIF selected YaKnowBrady.

BOX #3 Hophead717's Craft Beer Desert Survival Kit LIF: Seasonal Addition selected EA728.

BOX #4 Ungertaker's Black Tuesday LIF selected JohnPPutz.

I have to say, when I concocted this thing, I originally thought a) more people would participate and b) that the boxes would not come anywhere near this level. Both in the originality of the LIF's, the boxes, the effort put in by each of the contestants to find interesting ways to send much wanted brew off to their peers has been humbling and I'm afraid that the box I'm sending would have finished a distant 5th in my own contest (time to add more). That said, I have made one decision. Because there were such excellent boxes, and such a low number of participants, I am going to use my losing Kate tickets as runner-up prizes. I have pooled 27 losing tickets and each of the 3 players who do not win this LIF will "receive" 9 tickets to be entered in their name in PB's 2nd chance lottery and hopefully they'll be pulled by the Portsmouth Brewery as winners (PB's selecting two tickets per month for 1 year from all the entered losing KtG scratch tickets and awarding a bottle of 2012 Kate to each 'winner').

Thanks all for playing and I'll post the winner tomorrow morning. For the contestants, I'll shortly be sending beer mail asking for the usual contact info.

    ~John

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

Following our fortnight's competition it is the consensus of the judges that there is a winner. Three of the four contestant's received 1st place votes and all four of the contestants finished within 10 points. But only one could be best and the BA selected is:

    REMPO

Congratulations. So lift a pint, to our Champion at, dare I say, "The Inaugural"Great Kate Chase.

Hopefully the runners-up prizes will yield future bottles for each of the other players and I'm greatly looking forward to seeing the LIF's that are spawned from the four winners (YaKnowBrady, EA728, JohnPPutz and Brees6221) as well as all the other BA's who played along in those four LIF's and were able to see the generousity displayed by ruizjoseph, Rempo, Hophead717 and Ungertaker.

Cheers to all and thanks for making this month a good deal more enjoyable around this site.
