The Grinch that stole Christmas (long)

    Greeting everyone.
    You hear stories of desperation this time of year. I have a very close friend/beer bud that has been taken advantage of very recently. So much so, that I am coming here to put the word out.

    Short back story is my good friend is a traveler and collector of many beers and has a very nice cellar. Also, he is very generous to a fault and has allowed some people come into his life and use his place from time to time (no one recently FYI). Regardless, he is scratching his head as to who would ever do this to him.

    Within the past week he began to notice things in his place go missing.

    Well, the other night, he decided to check out his cellar collection in more detail and someone has helped themselves to numerous bottles without wiping him clean of his stock.

    The following were taken very recently:
    08 Lou Pepe Kriek
    08 or 09 Schaerbeekse Kriek
    Cuvee de Castleton - recent batch
    Ithaca Le Bleu - last batch
    2-3 Ithaca Brute - more recent batches
    3 Bourbon County Stout Coffee - 2013
    Weyerbacher Riserva
    3 Westvleteren 12
    Troegs Splinter Gold
    Allagash Merveilleux
    Plus more.....

    This is just what he can determine from photos he has taken prior and lack of a current spreadsheet. Sorry I don't have all the dates at my disposal.

    I am putting the word out, so if any of you happen to find someone trying to trade or sell any of these bottles as a group, you can perhaps send me a note.

    My buddy does not know I am doing this yet, so hopefully he is cool with it. I feel like many of visit other sites for trading/selling, so better to get this out now in hopes we can gather more info to find this selfish thief.

    Nice thing to do Tom! I have heard stories like this from some of the folks that I do bottle shares with. I hope you figure it out, and expose the guy(s). Meanwhile, I hope you have a great Christmas!

    How is it possible that he really has no clue as to who would steal all of those beers? How many people actually have access to them?

    No offense to the OP, but I'm wondering this also. The only time my bottles seem to go "missing" is when I'd drank to much to remember opening them. The only other person with access to my beer/wine would be my roommate who wouldn't open something without asking, and I wouldn't think our friends would either. Perhaps if you are having a lot of parties its possible though.....????

    Thanks, but no...this is not the case here.
    Also taken, is a King Henry, Doggie Claws and his sole can of Heady Topper.

    More things are coming to light, but sorry...keeping it off BA.

    This sounds interesting......do tell

    If the thief in question is on BA, shouldn't we know about him/her so that no one else gets burned by this bum?
