    DING DING DING!!! i think we have a clear winner! i already reached out to the first person who ONLY mentioned "The Abyss" & have already agreed to send them a couple of bottles.

    also not sure what happened but for a good while there i was unable to access the site from my lap top. unless i missed something, Mochican88 is the winner.

    2007 obviously, they had access to some heirloom barley varietals that year that haven't been malted since.

    I take a pic of every beer I drink and the closest I can find in my collection are
    De Molen Hel & Verdoeminis from Holland and
    Deschutes Black Butte XX from Oregon

    EDIT

    Damn, I nearly said Abyss, but the 2010 vintage I had, had a red tinted head :/
