Any news on the release change date fir La Looks as I can not find anything on the matter

 

Very fun event. Glad I went and will look to go to it again next year. The new site will be very fun to visit and likely the one I will look to frequent once it becomes open to the public.

Favorite beer of the event: Double Coconut Benthic. I liked Cinnamon Toast Crunch Benthic too but was just a bit too sweet for me. 5oz of it was about the limit.

 

What a fantastic event! Just as good as last year. Their glass/koozie branding was not as good as last year though.

 

From what I heard at the event, they said 2 weeks.

 

Yeah I chatted with Gabriel and he said 2-3 weeks...still want to dial everything in on the food side and make final preparations.

 

Yep, same: 2-3 weeks...straight from Gabriel. He told me one of the last challenges is putting together a food list/menu concept that is different enough from the Lincoln taproom and does a kind of Italian rosticceria concept well (roasted meats,,, mmmmmmmmmm). Can't wait. Still can't get over the amount of space those guys now have. It's massive. I kept discovering new parts to Balmoral as I lingered...even past the first hour. Just awesome outdoor space, too.

YES. It's quite good - had it just yesterday, not entirely my "thing" as it had that kind of mango tropical overripe turbidness. But some people get into that. To me, it came close (with an additional quasi-coconut smell, not too strong) to the corridor Highway to Haze IPA but it's beefier (8%). They let me sample so I didn't take a pic. But I'd recommend trying it.

 

Does half acre still do the monthly scavenger hunt? Have never been able to find this since they switched up their website a few months back.

No mention of the announced date for Balmoral opening? I know we knew it was coming, but nice to have an official date. I particularly liked their comment about families, hoping that I can take the wife and kids there. Either way, I'll be sure to make my way up there sometime.

 

September 9th is the date from their social media.

 

It's super family friendly. Especially the outside. The outdoor space in the back has potential to be a literal park, if they wanted to go that route.

 

Yeah, I knew the date...just thought there would be some chatter about it. Too much NEIPA talk for folks I guess.

I know what the space is like, and the size & outdoor space certainly helps. But, the space alone doesn't make something family friendly. There has to be an effort from the owners to be welcoming to families...and that's the part I was very pleased to see in their IG post.

 

Finally gone away is coming back! Yes!

 

They're going to allow families and kids! The horror! There could be somersaults!

 

I'm there on Friday - somebody should organize us, someone from Chicago -- hopefully bump into many of you there...

 

For someone in Colorado, you spend more time at the local Chicago places than I do!
