Nothing really comes off as entitled to me. Frustration, but not entitlement. And rightfully so, I'd say. Who is acting entitled?

It's a boilerplate snarky response when any big fan of a particular beer realizes in frustration they may not get a bottle of one of their favorite beer(s).

It's very easy to be a dick when you already got yours.

Oh I know. I wanted to see his response, though, so I could laugh about it.

Also: I decided I hate myself, my time, and money. I'll try to leave my apartment at 5 in the morning. Hopefully the beer god shall smile upon me, as I was one the unlucky few who got totally f'ed out of the online sale. This is also before I will be going into work tomorrow. I don't do these releases a lot so I just want to do ONE. hope to see you guys there in line.

As a data point, I was there just before 8 the past two years and was the first 30 people in line (was closer to the front in 2016). I know things are different this year with the variants, but I thought I’d mention it. Please report back toe let us know what # you are at that time.

With the way things developed I ended up taking the whole day off, and plan on being there early, also. I'll update on here with numbers once I'm there. It pays to have a job with flexibility.

Weekend At Bernies: Bernie Goes To Benthic

FWIW, I'm an out of towner who got lucky on the presale. I have 0 plans to double dip (wouldn't even if I could). I'll be picking up my bottles next Wed when I get into town for Thanksgiving. Super excited to get these, and already have plans to sit down and share all 3 with my local friends once back home. I've had Benthic once at Beer Camp a few years ago. I was already pretty drinky by that point, so I'm looking forward to getting a proper taste here soon. I know there's a lot of frustration/rage/homicidal ideation, but at least it worked out for one guy who isn't trying to screw the system.

Godspeed to all tomorrow. I'll be closely monitoring on a day off and expect high entertainment value as always.

people upset about how half acre chose to do the release, it’s their beer. They get to chose how to release it. Now, yes the website sucked. We all know that. Not the first ticket sales website to suck, not the last. It’s unfortunate.

What I see as entitled is the response to brewery releases. Everyone should realize that we don’t all get to try every beer. I certainly wouldn’t have got to try it if not for the lottery, and maybe a few others won’t get to try it because of it. That’s the nature of a lottery. Not everyone wins. Many of Half Acres biggest supporters don’t live in the city. I wish they’d open a brewery in the west burbs, but that ain’t happening. The lottery gives a few folks from the burbs a lottery ticket chance to get the beer we’d have no chance of acquiring otherwise.

Anyway, these beers are a finite commodity to many, and unless we all want prices to skyrocket to maximum levels and let top dollar win out, we should all just take a chill pill and let breweries find the best ways to do this. Apparently it’s not easy, otherwise these problems wouldnt happen so often. The alternative is a Toppling Goliath 100 dollars a bottle scenario and no one wants that

If you want the beer, go put some warm clothes, call in sick, and head to half acre now. It’s something I wouldnt do, and that’s why I loved the little lottery.

I hope that’s not how I came across as.
I’m in the burbs. I won’t be in line tomorrow. I’ll be working.

It is. I'm also in the burbs. And taking time from work to go. So yes, frustration at the entire thing is justified, IMO. I'm not carrying myself as entitled. It's as simple as being this beer is already difficult for me to obtain, and all they did was make it harder for me. As one of my favorite beers, it sucks.
