I'm beginning to think Prop Day style releases are the way to go....

I went to the release and I got there around 8:00 AM (I took a half day from work) and wanted to ensure I got bottles. I agreed sales of the bottles could have been expedited once in the sales room.

What really bothered me though was the general lack of respect some people had in line. Trash and bottles were strewn throughout when there were dumpsters a short walk away. And then there were some people who were completely tone deaf to their surroundings when it came to their volume and inebriation especially since the line crept up right to people's houses.

Oh, and the people talking about how they got the online sale and got full allocations - sick man!

I don't think beer people suck, but often I find that people waiting in beer lines do.

Was a guy in front of me in line that got the full allotment this morning, then headed straight to Balmoral to pick up his online prerelease allotment. I mean, it is what it is. I don't agree with it, but HA didn't care so not much else to say.

So...online ticketing disaster, overestimated their yield, reduced bottle counts, and drafts didn’t even last until happy hour.

Wish rev would take notes on how to run a big release

Agree with all of this. Whoever left their roasted chicken bones on the sidewalk needs to be hit by a bus.

Yeah - I saw a half eaten rotisserie chicken on the sidewalk. Have some common decency to cleanup after yourself goodness....

Yeah, all of this is just sad. I have hopes this won't happen at LP next Friday, but it most likely will. Unfortunately.

I am all for moving stout season to the middle of July after that line. I was debating going to Rev in the afternoon but after I got my bottles at HA, I jumped in the car and drove my frozen ass home. I was well dressed for the occasion too.
Just happy I got 3 regular and 1 DB.

Stopped by for a pour (whoever was talking about variants not lasting was clearly right) and was shocked at home empty the taproom was at like 6PM. I was able to get a seat and everything.

I really enjoyed my pour but still don't think it's an amazing BA stout or anything. It's much sweeter than I remember it being too.

I hadn't heard tell of people taking 6 variants, but I did hear about people taking 3 of one variant in a box with their 3 regs. D-bag behavior either way. My bud who got their earlier than me said the cashiers did check bottles but that may've just been some spotchecking. (Lord knows they had no desire to slow things down further.)

I was number 277 in line (Phil stopped numbering people at 276, though some people declined to be numbered -- not sure if he just skipped a number to account for that or not). The Double Dose bottles were gone well before Mister 276 got inside the store -- anecdotal evidence says that not only were there line cutters (and "girlfriends using the bathroom/staying warm in the car" who appeared around 11), but also people making their buys and *then* line cutting.

So, three-and-a-half hours in line got me 3 regs and a DB. Teach me to try to squeeze in an 830am interview with a source before making the trek from the western 'burbs to Northcenter. Next year I'll be there by 7. And probably get 2 regs LOL....

That really sucks. I wish ANY of these damn releases could be without controversy.

On the other hand, I keep reminding myself that I got 3 bottles of one of my favorite beers, so variants or not, at least we've gotten to the part where that's feasible for most.

I'm pretty sure based on case counts, the double barrel was expected to be gone before 276. I thought there were about 250 people that should get it, if I'm correctly remembering the numbers from a couple pages back. DB lasted longer because it was 1pp. I believe you're right about cutters and people sneaking extra variants, but at 276 you were never going to get DD. As far as loopers, they were marking hands so it's possible, but I can't imagine there were a lot of them.

I can't help but to be amused by this kind of post. "I'm too lazy to review the numbers, but I'm going to quibble with you about numbers because arguing on a snow day so here's an assertion that 'I'm pretty sure' about.":stuck_out_tongue:

There were 276 allotments of DD at 2 per person. 46 cases. Times six (as it's 2PP limit; no need to multiply by 12 and divide by 2). Equals 276.

And yes, at 30 cases of DB at 1PP there was enough for 360. #Tangent

Theoretical in both cases, as some shady stuff was reported among we neckbeards.

My hand didn't get marked after I made my buy. Maybe they didn't care if people double dipped on regular and DB, though I would've had to cut to get a second DB.
