SteveGoz - the variants were gone well before #276
Chipez - 276 is wrong, no way at 276 were you getting the Double Dose
SteveGoz - Based on Half Acres case counts, the number of DD allotments is 276. Here’s the math. By the way, this was pointed out by a few people earlier in this thread.
Chipez - wish there was a middle finger emoji

Not sure how you think he’s the asshole here.

Logic isn’t welcome on BA. These guys need to settle their disagreements in the ancient way:

Lock eyes and chug Malört until someone cries mercy.

Huh? Who do I think is an asshole? Not sure what you're talking about at all. I was goofing around with stevegoz. And I assume he was doing the same considering the emoji with the tongue sticking out in his post.

And what do you mean 276 is wrong? I'm well aware that you weren't getting variants at 276. That's what I was saying in the first place, because of scummy people taking all variants or whatever else has been mentioned. But based upon the case count, 276 people should have gotten full allotments... 46x12/2=276.

Fair enough, seemed like you were saying the amount should have been less than 276.

For what it’s worth, i think I’m mostly just mad at Michigan’s poor performance today...

Having the same colored wax on the variants (and similar labels) did not end up being the best idea by HA, although in fairness it was originally planned as 4, 2 & 2 and ended up being 3, 2 & 1. Unfortunately, while most people are honest and respectful, there is seemingly always that 5% who can't keep from being selfish & disrespectful which then ruins it for others. Hopefully beer karma bites these people in the arse one day.

100% an oversight on my part; thanks for keeping me honest. First, fuck that guy (and everyone like him). THEN direct leftover animosity away from BAs and towards HA if need be.

Welp, HA has officially hit Bourbon County status. Three pages of discussion about the BA release then 4 pages of rage/talk purley about alotments post sale. Also: expect more tents.

Just making a note to self: I need ""friends"" who are willing to bring chairs and a heater then join a line at 5 in the morning so I can hit them up three hours before big releases. Just make sure to bring some beer to drink.

Definitely. Friday was fun and FOBAB was great. Hope you enjoyed FOBAB as well. It was my first time in a couple years not doing the early admittance. For the late session Saturday we got there an hour early and basically got pours of all the heavy hitters. I was thinking we’d miss some stuff and I was surprised. It was crowded but not as bad as I remember prior years.

The HA line was a long wait and it sucks to hear people that should have gotten a full allotment didn’t because someone else was being selfish. There is a lot of great things about craft beer i.e people’s willingness to share their beer. I see this as the opposite of the spirit of the majority of the beer community but there is always a couple people that mess it up for everyone else.

HA releases have always been super overhyped imo; they're the only Chicago brewery that can release a non-BA coffee stout like Big Hugs and get sellout crowds like they do. We're just seeing what those same fans will do when the stout is a top notch BA pastry one.

It will be very interesting to see how HA handles this event going forward--Based on what I've seen here, the variants seem to be a hit, so this should only make the hype-train run even faster next year.

Benthic should be passing BCBS hype in my opinion. I'd argue that Benthic and variants are on the up and up- continuous quality improvement, only going to get better the more they do these, while GI, despite what they say, are going through and changing efficiencies and cost controls for production of BCBS. It tastes cheaper and IMO a shell of what it used to be.
