Cinnamon BH was the best of the bunch for me today. Maple was very good as well. I didn't get a ton of vanilla out of vanilla but looking forward to trying it out of the can. BA was very good as well.

It's not BCBS or Deth, but it's good for what it is. Still better than KBS.

    Oh and Sailor was incredible.

I’m a big fan of Big Hugs for what it is. A super solid coffee stout. Nothing more. I really enjoy the BA version as well if it’s on draft, big that’s about it.

I bought a 4-pack because I haven't had it in about 5 years, but honestly, with Breakfast Stout available for ~ half the cost I don't think I'll do it again.

Yeah, that's why I've always been puzzled by this release. I understand that the event itself is fun; it's a party, there are draft-only variants, etc.. But the base beer itself is standard enough that I was always confused at the lines (at least before they started bottling/canning variants).

I assume this is too expensive to do, but if they're going to keep doing BH, I'd prefer that they make vanilla the "standard," and then offer BA and whatever other variants they want.

edit: I don't mean to hate on the beer; it's perfectly fine and I respect people liking it. It just gets a much larger release than I'd expect.

My roommate went up to balmoral at like 7pm yesterday and got everything (got me a 4 pack of vanilla). Pretty pumped to try it. I remember it being good at the big north

I assume it's just because it's something of an OG? Agree on the points above though, it's generally been an enjoyable coffee stout (no more, no less).

Is it confirmed that nothing sold out?

Was there about 30 mins ago. Got one of the last 4 packs of SK. Vanilla was starting to run low as well.

I’d love if more places started doing treehouse style purchasing.

I would love to try a lot of these ipas, but I have no interest in dropping $70+ to try 3 different beers. Being able to do a mix 4 or 6 pack would be great.

Only the most hyped, in demand breweries can pull that off.

The option is we go back to bombers and no one wants that.

Last years was cryptic as well. They ended up releasing a sour and an IPA so I would imagine they will follow suit tomorrow.

Looks like this release is in Philly, but maybe Chicago will follow.

Last year I think HA was first with Philly to follow. I was told this morning HA will be in a few weeks. Beers look solid though!

Interesting, never heard of Sabro hops, had to look them up
"Sabro exhibits an intoxicating and complex blend of fruity and citrus flavors. It is described as an intensely unique hop, notable for its complexity of fruity and citrus flavors, including distinct tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, and stone fruit flavors, with hints of cedar, mint, and cream."

Would be cool if these Heavy Gem beers would see a Chicago release before I move away.

I tried Benthic yesterday for the first time and was underwhelmed. I guess the disappointment came because I was struggling to get any coconut. I had the vanilla benthic at Far and Away, and cinnamon coconut benthic at fobab and coconut was very present in both of these. Is the coconut always so subdued in regular (coffee/coconut) benthic or was it maybe just an off keg?
