I got bottles around 6:00 pm and there were probably only 15 - 20 left. I was surprised they didn't have a limit.

That's even weirder to me. A business asking you to refrain from something on their own property is one thing. Asking them to do the same thing on public property seems unnecessary (which Half Acre has not done).

Everyone knows the laws about open container. In most circumstances they are bothering no one, so why do you care what they do? Seems like a silly thing to get upset about.

I dont understand the no limit policy on this one. If you limit the other big releases why not this one as well? It seems silly but I guess maybe they were concerned about selling out on the first day (which they did) and having to worry about lines a second day. Either way its still on draft

Yeah my bad, I apparently read that IG post wrong (I think I was in the car playing "DJ" at the time). I'm surprised bottles aren't making it elsewhere, given that even GDDC makes it onto shelves. Either way, Rainbow is a good beer, but I think they have plenty of other equally good stuff on tap currently, so I'm not overly upset it sold out so quickly. I'm surprised they ran out of bottles day 1, but if they weren't enforcing bottle limits, the hoarders probably had a field day.

There were pictures of people leaving with 1-2 cases. Would have liked to try it. Oh well.

Jesus, really? I don't understand that at all, unless they're trading 75% of it away.

That's what I was guessing. Just the name recognition alone probably made it worth something to people on the west coast.

How's the tour at the Lincoln brewery? Planning to visit the tap room in two Saturday's and trying to decide if it's worth getting there early for the tour.

Get there early is all I can say. IMO def worth it. More so a hang out while you drink a ton of beer as opposed to being an actually tour.

I saw the price of The Big North came out today for $65. The details are still pretty sparse, basically saying they'll have music, beer and BBQ. I would like to know if the $65 includes all food & beer, or if it's a certain # of tokens, etc. Anyone got any info on that?

If it is like every past year, it is all you can drink and eat. Nothing special though, shit food and stale beer. Stay away!

**Edit. Ok I lied. It's fucking awesome.

I didn't know there were any past year events like this, since it said this is the first iteration of this. It sounds like they had a different sort of event in the past that I somehow missed out on. Lucky for me I know about this one, and just happen to love stale beer and shit food.

In the past they hosted an event during CCBW. Last year was the Throw party for example. This year (and going forward?) the CCBW event was supplanted by the upcoming event in August.

I bought mine this morning, and am looking forward to it. I was a bit bummed by the extra $10 in service fees and taxes, but oh well.

My buddy and I figured we just have to make sure to drink a couple extra beers to get our money worth for that portion.

I did hesitate buying them online, wondering if there is a charge for service/tax if you buy them in person at Half Acre, then I realized it's probably more of a pain for me to get over there and do that as opposed to just buying it online.

I'm definitely a fan of Half Acre, but to have a $65 ticket (+ $10 service fee) to an event where no tap list has been announced nor any food that's included with your ticket is a pass for me.

If I'm paying for a "beer" event, I prefer to know what I'm getting prior to buying a ticket.

Again, this is just me and in no way am I bashing HA or saying that its not worth the $75.
