The Half-Acre thread (2018)

Looks like some changes were made to the beer availability page on HA's website.

Navaja is now only available from Jan-June and Deep Space cans seem to be on the horizon with a listed availability of July-Dec. I for one will be very sad to say goodbye to Navaja. Also, tuna is listed as year round availability.

 

picked up two packs of the 2x daisy last night. that beer is so so so good.

better than i remembered it.

Its nice to finally see DDC in cans.

 

How much $$ are they selling DDC cans for at HA?

 

It was $15.99 per 4 pack

 

I was at the Half Acre taproom yesterday evening and they have Double Daisy Cutter as well as Topanga Gulch on tap.
......I kind of liked Topanga Gulch SLIGHTLY more actually......
is that sacrilege?

Picked up a 1/6 barrel of Navaja at binnys saturday for the kegerator. Believe it or not drinking about 10 pints of this, while very enjoyable at the time, will make for a miserable day after. Sad it isn't year round now, but deep space is a realll solid substitute during the summer.

Shit, summer was the time that I enjoyed Navaja the most! I like Deep Space fine, but barring a change in the recipe, I won't be purchasing that nearly as much as I would Navaja.

With that being said, IF Half Acre continues cranking out canned one-offs every few weeks, I won't complain. While I still prefer Navaja to the majority of those so far, I love trying their new stuff (and Topanga was a perfectly acceptable Navaja stand-in).

Besides, if they're serious about canning, I'll probably be drinking GDDC and BHA cans for a lot of the summer, anyway. I'll complain about Navaja when my stock runs out.

 

Does anyone really not believe that drinking 10 pints of this would make for a rough next day??!!! That's a lot of Navaja.

 

Honestly it was the pure excitement of having this on draft at home that made me do it...and while the hangover was basically crippling, I don't necessarily regret my actions. They go down fast when you are playing cards I guess lol

 

Deep Space screams winter seasonal release to me while Navaja is way more summer.

 

For me, one Navaja makes for an early bed time, two would make for a rough morning. 10 would kill me.

 

Well, I had 2 Spotted Puffers and 2 cans of Navaja, and I can say, without a doubt that . . .






the next day was dreadful. It didn't help that it was my 9 yo's birthday, and all he wanted to do is play Star Wars Battlefront on the PS4 with his old man. The motion sickness didn't help matters.
