Narwhal is not only my favorite imperial stout, I'd say it's also my all-time favorite beer. Oddly enough, I didn't like the barrel-aged version as much as the standard one. Still delicious though!

last year I picked up a case of Victory Storm King before The Walking Dead season started. this year I did the same. Storm King Sundays as I watch the show. I move on to other stouts when the show goes to winter break and break it back out when it comes back on.

Should have mentioned, Weyerbacher's Sunday Morning Stout is severely underrated. I picked one up along with a KBS, and I thought it was much better than KBS. I feel like Breakfast Stout should be a top beer for me, as I love oatmeal stouts and coffee stouts, but it just doesn't do it for me. Similarly, KBS is a great beer, but I just don't get the hype. BCBS, OTOH, is the nectar of the gods.

Yes Yeti seems to be one of the most unhyped/underrated imperial stouts IMO. I think its one of the best non-Barrel aged imperials out there.

Yes Bell's 30th was amazing. Another vote for awesomeness in a 12oz bottle.

Undead Party Crasher by Clown Shoes was great. Does Clown Shoes make anything below average? Everything is good to great that I've had by them so far.

Perhaps my favorite style too, especially if consistently liking is considered. Lots of great limited production brews out there, of which Nantahala Trail Magic, Founders CBS, CCB Hunahpu and Bells Black Note are among my favorites. But some great, widely distributed, and very reasonably priced ones too -- particularly noteworthy in this group: Stone Imperial Stout, Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout and Old Rasputin.

I haven't had this yet but making a mental note to find some more for my beer cellar.

You bet your ass it is. BBCS is a very nice Impy, and especially for the price, well a few years back, I believe 6 packs were way under $10.

    Cheers!

Best stouts I've ever had: prairie pirate bomb, prairie Bible Belt, Avery uncle Jacobs stout, the abyss, bourbon county coffee, aged expedition, pumpkinator.

Really awesome stouts: breakfast stout, Sunday morning stout, all yeti variants, boulevard dark truth, Schlafly bourbon aged RIS, ten fiddy, big bad baptist, and I know I'm forgetting some.

I was skeptical about the hype on Ten Fiddy until I tried it. Now it's my top non-BA stout, with Founders Imperial Stout a close second. Narwhal, Yeti, and Old Raspy are on the next tier down. Locally, Tyranena Carnal Knowledge and Black Husky 12 Dog are both good.
Lots of barrel aged favorites, including Big Bad Baptist, Hoppin Frog BA BORIS, and anything Central Waters or Tyranena feel like putting in a barrel.

Edit: Forgot about Left Hand Wake Up Dead Nitro, can't stop drinking that stuff.
