Anyone else here tried this yet? It is outrageously fucking good.

I don't even know what else to say.

If you mean Export Indian Porter then I have a bottle sitting on the shelf. Along with a Nethergate Old Growler which i'm saving for a weekend of non stop porter.

Not yet. But maybe sometime soon.
Essex, your beer devotion needs to be acknowledged. I can only imagine the beer carnage that will come once you're earning and not a student. Double thumbs up to you.

Export India Porter is excellent, but Evin has since brewed a Double India Porter at 7.5%.

Edit: It is the best dark beer under 10% I've ever had.

Stoat: I'll keep an eye out for it then, it sounds gorgeous and I love porter enough as it is. I was in my local bottle shop when they were restocking and had to resist the urge to pour through the half open boxes scattered throughout the tiny shop.

Zimbo: If you knew what degree I was doing then earning wouldn't exactly be the word for it! :stuck_out_tongue: Though as silly as it might sound it would be brilliant to be able to get into brewing/pub work. I could even combine the two if you think of a certain West Country professor with impressive sideburns and usually muddy hands. Him and his colleagues are usually quaffing a few pints at the pub after a hard days work.

    DO.

There's a full roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate flavour upfront but the finish is all tropical fruit. A remarkable beer. Thank Christ I bought four bottles.

I agree - when I was a student I started out on cider (sweet), then moved on to macro lager. Didn't even like Guinness. It was a few years after graduating before I began to expand my palate (a trip to Belgium with a friend might have helped). If only more people were born with good taste!

I haven't heard of this beer before but it sounds good - I'll look out for it.

took me till my late 20s to start to get interested in beer properly - before that I was all about the cheapest deals by alcohol volume in supermarkets :flushed: .

That takes me back a bit, had forgotten about him. And CJ Berry comes back to mind too as an early writer.I've still got a copy of Dave Line's book though.
Started brewing as soon as it became legal in 1963-the legality wouldn't have been a problem anyway but until then supplies of ingredients were hard to find.I remember one kit called Sarah's Bitter which was awful.

I'd guess you're studying Archeology (or possibly Anthropoolgy) which could pay enough. You could be a Raider of the Lost Ale.
